G&L's M-2500 is a gig and studio ready workhorse of a bass that sounds and plays better than some instruments that cost twice as much. It's all about power and versatility on a super comfortable design. The tone is rich, full and dynamic, easily dialed in to your exact liking. This bass doesn't cater specifically to slappers or jazzers or pickers; it caters to musicians and leaves the rest up to you. Take back some of the highs and boost the mids for beefy, funky slap tone. Raise the treble a touch for subtle fingerstyle passages, and you'll hear everything your fingers are doing. The neck is carved to just the right shape and has an incredibly smooth finish that lets the wood breathe. Stylish looks and impeccable construction top off the package. This can easily become your go-to bass for your biggest gigs and recording. Read on for specifics.

+Wall OfNoise It's like pugging into two different amps. Although it takes a little time getting use to.

Bought the USA version a month or so back. Such an amazing bass. The tone options are all very usable, and live it sounds awesome. Sits in the mix perfectly. Fav setting - both pick ups, series, active. Sounds huge. Totally drives the band. Leo Fenders finest work.

Hey, would've been good to mention the different toggle switch selections to know how you were getting the different tones.

Nice to go throw the modes in some systematic way. Otherwise, what are we seeing in the “demo”?

To me, this has to be the best looking L2500 series to date. The others just appear to be bland. This Redburst actually has some appeal. They all sound good, and have good action/feel for a midrange instrument.

I bought a L2500 usa. Whenever I switch to active or active treble boost, there is always a distortion hessing sound. Is this common or should I send for repair? I believe it's not the strong output cos I tried even with powerful amps and I even lower the volume output. Pls help!

+Sunny Lai Hi Sunny, I had the same problem (hissing) with my 2500. I had a local luthier put a copper shielding in the control cavity; that muffled almost all the hiss. I have to say that the lack of shielding inside the control cavity and not having a flip-top battery compartment are two negatives on this otherwise beautiful instrument. Cheers

@daitos1955

Hi Sunny, it's not actually repairing that is needed. As I said before, the control cavity is not shielded and the pickups are high output, so the hiss is a "normal" consecuence. I'd say just get a luthier to put a shield in the control cavity and I can garanty you 98% of the hiss will dissapear. Good luck

Sorry but that demo was not good--I only watched the demo with the guy in the stocking hat, He did not dig into that bass and really did no good at showing what that bass sounds like--next time call me and I'll show you how to do it.

Open your fingers on your fretting hand a bit more. I notice you play with your fingers together, it looks like they’re glued together. It makes you sound sloppy. I’m not dogging the player, it’s just constructive criticism from a bass instructor. I like your riffs, though.
Is this the most versatile bass ever made?
