Another great video. I was born and raised in Maine. Bath Iron Works has built many great ships over the years. Bath is a very small city but it's responsible for building many great warships.

Fascinating, Mark! Thanks so much for your excellent videos! I just bought a Nording rusticated freehand pipe from our local pipe shop in Lexington, Kentucky. I had hoped they would have the Orlik Kentucky Dark that you reviewed, but no luck. They had a nice cherry vanilla aromatic with which I broke it in. I'm just a rank beginner pipe smoker, but you've taught this old retired Kentucky geologist a ton of great pipe information! Take care...

Thanks for the shout out, always appreciated. Whenever I see these tours of the modern warships I can't help but contrast all that massive and extensive electronic equipment and the sophisticated rocket launchers etc. to the typical sailing ships of the 19th century and earlier, oil lanterns for illumination and Boatswain's pipes and brass bells for communication and if it was a warship like the famous Konig Wilhelm the technology of the time pretty much limited the ships fire power to the proverbial cannon balls. Times have changed but I am not sure if those changes are for the better. We have simply found more high tech ways to kill each other. Glad you like the Navigator, one of my favorite blends. Keep puffin.

Hi Mark, from an aussie living in Bavaria. I have just subscribed - and I am looking forward to catching up on your videos. Great content and approach - which is, if I may say, a little 'left field' - which is why it is so damn good!! I will be getting myself my second ever pipe in coming days and look forward to following up on some of your tobacco reviews. I am so very chuffed that you are doing this in English (especially while I continue to work on my German). Brilliant, brilliant channel!

Hello Mark my friend! Glad you're well...and getting out and about...I've been stuck in place for some weeks. With the virus still out of control here and the massive climate fires and the smoke, there's been no escape. The last week has been alright, but with work and research, I still can't escape. Anyways, great video...really like how you interspersed the old footage with your footage. And Wilhelmshaven, seems to be a beautiful spot....even with the wind. A perfect baccy to accompany you there to this site...can't go wrong with a G.L, Pease...at least I haven't experienced any disappointment. Take care my friend, and we should talk soon...gonna try to make that happen. Corey

Hey Mark, another great video man, as a History undergraduate student I love these historic videos of yours! Specially because I've started learning German during this quarantine and fell in love with the German History! I've been wanting to try Navigator for quite some time, but these Pease's blends (and many other good ones) are really hard to come by here in Brazil, and very very expensive too when you can finally find then. Anyway, nice to see that you're doing fine, may your matches box always be full and your pipe lit!

I'm working on a review of G.L. Pease's "Quiet Nights". This is the second in the "Old London" series. Is that a Bright leaf Virginia? I think "Quiet Nights" is Red leaf, not quite so sugary, but has more nicotine as appropriate for a "night" tobacco. On my tin of "Quiet Nights" it says it is only allowed for sale in the U.S. I'm not sure what that is all about. Obviously, you can get it there. At any rate, congratulations on that successful light of a bowl in a gale; a true mark of a veteran pipe smoker! I'm glad to see you are well. Take care, my friend,---Todd
