I am Ainu. I was not even invited to the Seijin Shiki. It was long long time ago. My father said "It is OK just move on." It was very hard to be discriminated on racial ground too. We were called inferior race. I agree with you. Discrimination makes nobody happy. I presume just because everybody is unhappy, we discriminate and feel even unhappier. Vicious circle. I live in Canada now. This country also suffers from serious racial problem. Despite the clean humanitarian outlook, the guilt of exterminating native people and culture is handing over Canada. I feel very close to the native people here as I am also an aboriginal in Japan. Their situation in Canada is worse than Ainu's situation in Japan.
