The cheaper EV did as I expected as they are basically based on 3 wheeler tuk tuks. The wuling EV did as a car would with proper crumple zone and stuff. With some airbags and a higher top speed I can see this being used in slower high ways and maybe give more competition to the kei markets if all under 7500 usd

Looks good in test. I hope it will also protect you from all kinds of impact. Please put some english sub.

it will not. The MiniEV caused injuries even hitting a shitbox EV golf-cart type crap. The show said if it hits a regular car or SUV the damage will be exponential. In the US the car is a death trap.

*yes the red one (also known as a chang-li) is unsafe but remember they are only meant to be in the Provence’s, towns, and cities and small areas that don’t have public roads because this type of EV isn’t designed to go fast and be designed for an impact* *also forgot to add that these are also just for getting some groceries near by or elders or just wanting to go somewhere that isn’t so far away*

I have been looking for crash test videos of the inexpensive electric cars. Finally here's one, but unfortunately for me, not in english. But the video says it all. The "Wuling" did much better than the red car, which appears to be a DEATHTRAP!! I wouldn't want to be in the white car either, but it's stronger than the red for sure. Great offset crash test. Thank you for this.👍
@terminalile32962 жыл бұрын
That red one can't be called as a car, because in China it belongs to "low-speed electric vehicle" category, which means you can't get a legal licence and number plate, so it is not a vehicle which we called car. The show is meant to find the safety difference between legal cars and these craps.
@justincase22812 жыл бұрын
Regardless. If it's got four wheels and moves under it's own power, it's a car. The red one is a DEATHTRAP. And if it's on the road, it's vulnerable to collision, and the people inside would be doomed! The other one did better, but it too is a danger to life and limb. I'll take and old Buick any day over these crates!!
@nicksgarage82952 жыл бұрын
@@justincase2281 hows it a death trap. it would far much better than a car vs pedestrian or car vs bicycle. if anything its added safety.

@@nicksgarage8295 Just look at the crash test. Would you want to be in either one of those things?! As a "car", it a deathtrap. I'm been in a couple of REAL cars that were TOTALLED and I survived. (Neither wreck my fault.) But if I were in one of those cars in the same kind of wreck, I would be DEAD. No thanks on these things.
@TheKimberlyashton Жыл бұрын
The show mentioned the Wuling used medium-high strength steel rated from 210mPa up to 270mPa for the chassis, on par with compact cars' body strength. However, minimum weight plus minimum crumple zone spell it's a death trap, shouldn't drive it on the highway at all.

To people saying the Wuling "fared well", they crashed it against the smallest vehicle possible, and the driver still took signifigant damage. Any larger vehicle than a red "neighbourhood runabout" (such as a delivery truck) would kill the driver. It did not fare well, it fared extremely poorly.

it would be okay in slow speed city areas or rural areas for highways, normal roads, not sure how else they could make it more safe besides adding airbags whatever material you stick onto a mini like this, it is not going to fare well in a crash. There isn't even an engine to act as a crumple zone

Great video / crash test. The Wuling EV is of course just a non-licenced vehicle to drive around locally like a bicycle, not on the highway. The MiniEV looks great. With some airbags could sell it in western countries.

Hello, the brand mini belongs to Wuling Motors in China, which is a very good traditional Chinese car company. The seat belts you mentioned are already standard in subsequent mini models. The positioning of this car in China is to buy groceries, commute for short distances in the city, and pick up and drop off children.
@user-ch5wz6dp3x Жыл бұрын
@@elpibegamer6730 The red car is an electric vehicle that is on the edge of the law in China. It is never allowed to drive on Chinese urban roads and major roads. However, because China is relatively large, there is still a certain market in some remote or backward rural areas.
@pinkelephants1421 Жыл бұрын
No. This would need to be re-engineered to be safe enough to be used on the roads. How the manufacturers got away with producing such a poorly engineered vehicle is amazing. Even when used in site appropriate locations, this doesn't mean that normal heavier cars won't also be using the same locations.
Absolutely not to think about buy any poor quality and unsafe like this super cheap cars. Wuling mini EV is better, safety and strong good car. It's float over water and it's run, no problem.

I think OP meant metaphorically floats over water. Wuling is an _electric vehicle_ right? Water and electricity don't mix well👨🏻🔬
The Wuling seems to have done very well in this crash test. I, of course, did not understand one single word so I am not clear on the red 'Mercedes'. Looking into the engine compartment I saw nothing. Is this also an EV or does it have motor/ engine in the back ? If it is a traffic ready vehicle I will leave my fingers off it. Not safe.

@@yao4738 thank you very much for the explanation. I was in fact wondering about the red vehicle. In the price range the Wuling seems to fare better. I appreciate your effort. Thank you.
mini EV的價格只有k car 的1/3,參考了k car的標準它就不會做得這麼成功了。一流品牌自己定標準~Wuling是GM旗下的品牌,Test完全可以放心,不需要去refer Honda的標準。

If government cared about a real renewable energy transformation they would adjust regulation to allow them in our cities quickly, but they don't so we won't. The Wuling would be my next car otherwise. It still has a lot of room for improvement but for under 10 grand so long as its safe, has aircon and the stated over 150km range it works for me more than the new feature rich over priced hot garbage a lot of cars are.

excellent crash characteristics, you wont need to worry about hospital fees or recovery time as all occupants would be decapitated or crushed/bled to death on impact. maybe a collapsible steering column and a bit more metal on the body to improve cabin integrity in any impact. maybe fitting airbags in the front boot area, as well as the cabin would reduce cabin intrusion and sudden death of occupants.
