I've been eyeing this watch for about a month. I just like large display digital watches that have some quality but not crazy expensive. Most of G Shocks have small time readouts. Not long ago I got one that was a large display but when I tried the light in the dark....it was horrible. Seeing how you showed how well this one lit up, I just ordered one. @@richt1815 Hello! It's so fun that you thought to ask that. I DID get it but it ended up like...not speaking to me or something, ha ha. I loved the features thought very much so I ended up getting the GBX-1 G-Lide instead. I really like the look, the buttons, the position of them all, and "square" shape, and the metal bezel. It's been on frequent rotation and I wear it at work lots too. Super cool. I bought directly from Gshock.ca and they were so cool about the return of my first one. I'll certainly buy direct from them again.

This is one of the best GShock review videos I've watched (and I've watched a lot), nice job. I am very pleased that Casio brought the MIP LCD tech to a lower priced model. You get many features of the GBDH1000 for a much lower cost. It would be nice in the future if the LCD panel could fill the entire circular center, without the 'flat tire' characteristic this model has.

Using it for about 4 months now. Pretty happy of most of the fatures it has. Really light weight, comfy to wear, and battery life is just amazing. But if you are expecting more smart-watch features just don't expect too much. There are some small things could be enhanced and improved with future updates, hopefully: - many clicks until you get to notifications (instead they can add shortcut like pressing and holding down-left button which now does nothing when holding) - can add weather notifications screen - app can filter some notifications (not all notifications are needed to be shown) - sometimes doesn't show me the name of calling person, just number; also reject call button might be added - music control of the phone will be a great feature - othere sports modes could be added (of course not all features but at least as shortcut to starting new activity record in Strava) But if you are just to use it as regular watch none of these are really needed

I agree but, I also understand this is not a smartwatch. The gbd-h1000 is a hybrid. one way text and call notification. G shock is a watch company using technology not a technology company making watches.

I'm not 100% sure how the watch will behave when the battery runs off, but most of your data is synced up to G-Shock Move anyways. So it will automatically sync once your pair the watch. There is an indicator on the watch, bottom right side "!" mark will appear when it's battery is low. Thanks for watching.

Specific question for you, re this module, have you enabled the autolight and tested it out? I have noticed, when I enable it, it shows the LT, it works, but then after awhile, for example overnight, it defaults back to autolight off? Is this a battery saving feature on this module, or a glitch?

It's a power saving feature. It's mentioned in the manual as well. Auto turn off after 6 hours

I have a couple of questions , if you allow me . First , how it is the visibility under bright conditions. Does The metal halo reflect the sun a lot ? It’s easy to see the numbers ? MIP display is very clear under direct sunlight, no concerns here. Probably if you angle it by accident, the outer ring might shine back, but shouldnt be a huge concern. All the GBD-100 models have same display, just the bnb is different colors. No issues with iPhone, i have seen issues on phones such as Huawei and Oppo.

I don't think its possible. You have to go into the notification list in your watch, and delete all. I will dig into the settings and see if anything comes up.

On the gbd-100 you can't , because it doesn't have inbuilt GPS sensor. However, it will use inbuilt algorithm + accelerometer to calculate the distance. May not be 100% accurate.

What model of Android phone do you have? I have had a few people I know with Huawei and Oppo device having issues. Usually it's due to the phone not sending the notification. A restart of the phone helps. Check if you have power saving mode enabled which may interfere with the background service that send notification to the watch

If they added solar power to this model, it would be perfect for my needs since I'm not interested in the MOVE version with GPS and Heart rate. A watch with this many functions will drain the battery faster than traditional g-shock.

Casio purposefully does not make “all-in-one” feature g shocks. They spread the features out over a variety of models so you have to buy more than one watch if you want all the feature. G shocks don’t break, and selling everyone only one unit is a bad business model. That’s why they have so much variety. They need people to keep buying even if their current g shock is 100% fine

Unfortunatelly there is just running activity. I am also mostly cycling and I'd enjoy cycling mode more than running. Apart of it there is sync option for Strava and Google Fit app.

This watch beats Fitbit by all ways. Almost same functions (minus heart rate monitor) at a lower price and a better battery (no charging, easier replacement). I think the lack of Li-ion battery in this model is a huge strength. You don't have to worry about battery replacement (or Fitbit replacement) in 2 years.

I just discovered this thing and I can't believe my eyes. All I wanted is vibration notifications and a HUGE digital display, which is why I used Mi Bands mostly. But this, this is it. yes u can. If you have the phone connected, it will be accurate as it will use the phone gps. Even without the phone, it will use inbuilt algorithm to calculate your calories/pace etc

Let's hope that its not another G fog. Mine keeps fogging up. Returned to Casio twice. Still not good. Not built properly in Thailand. Mine is a Casio Rangeman 9400 dw in army green. Such a great watch otherwise. I have other great g shocks that don't fog. And I have 2 that do fog up. I think Thailand is humid, where its built and when you use in countries like Australia then fog will happen no matter what. It was only a week old and it fogged up. Even when you clear the fog, it fogs again in a minute
