China National Opera House, 2015 September 23 performed at National Center for the {erforming Arts. The sampling point of the recording is not good that's why the orchestra is so loud. I performed the role Hagen

Great traditional production and not a fedora, tie or lounge suit to be seen!!!! Highly enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

I wish this was subtitled.

@Ye Chen It would be fabulous if these vids could be uploaded with English Subtitles.
And impressively, too. Especially since this is, I believe, the first wholly Chinese production, developed without European input. It's not perfect -- what is? -- but it has the Wagnerian spirit, far more than many European houses today. Thank you very much for posting these excerpts. I'd like to see the whole thing, and Walkure as well -- are they available commercially?

China National Opera House has done Das Rheingold this September, so we have done the whole RING. Since I only did the Hagen and the Fafner, so I will upload Das Rheingold in a few months.

At least the singer of Alberich learned all his lines this time. In Rheingold he kept on forgetting his text and was singing gibberish.

Haha yeah! He got lots of applause in the end though.

Sänger: hervorragend. Orchester: hervorragend. Bühnenbild: hervorragend. Einzige Kritik: die beiden ersten Akkorde. Hier nicht hörbar.

Its nice to see but I liked "Rheingold" far better. Aesthetically it seems to borrow heavily from "The Lord of the Ring" movies, similar medieval-fantasy-stuff from current western Pop culture and the "Ring" by Patrice Chereau. Some props like Brunnhildes dress (and some of her gestures), the Tarnhelm, Ring and Nibelheim from "Rheingold" seem to be inspired a lot by Chereau. The staging is pretty static often and the acting was far superiour in "Rheingold". For instance in the Brunnhilde/Waltraute Scene, when Brunnhilde tells Waltraute what happened she sings it to the audience as if doing an Aria instead of telling it to Waltraute.

The Rheingold was OK, but this is unwatchable.

Aesthetically I liked "Rheingold" better as well. Most of the time the staging is very static and the whole design seem to borrow heavily from "Lord of the Rings" and similar medieval-themed fantasy storys and Chereaus Ring. Brunnhilde`s costume, the Tarnhelm, the Ring, Nibelheim in "Rheingold" seem to be taken directly from Chereau "Ring" producion.
