G1 QUICKSWITCH: EmGo's Transformers Reviews N' Stuff

As someone who is interested in engineering, I've always loved transformers. The idea that you can take a car/boat/plane/ect. and turn it into a robot is just so cool to me. Especially when it comes to the triple changers and the six changers. Sure, some of the modes aren't pretty especially on the earlier figures, but just the fact that someone was able to get 6 modes out of one figure will always be impressive to me (even if 1 or 2 of the 6 modes feel like just an "in between" mode that just kinda happened).

I agree. I'm actually quite impressed. The modes actually look better than I anticipated them to be. The guy's not the prettiest transformer out there, but it works. Definitely one of my favorite g1 figures mostly because of the engineering that went into him.

Quick Switch reminds me of the original G1 Broadsides. Granted he was only a small triple changer, but literally an aircraft carrier with two stubby arms and no legs, just a huge hunk of plastic and metal with fold out wings for an absolutely terrible plane mode. I miss ridiculous G1 figures sometimes :P

Quickswitch was Sixshot's "son", burdened with the task of making up for his "father's" mistakes. Though Getaway mistook him for a Decepticon upon first seeing him, Quickswitch displayed his true loyalties by making short work of both Horri-Bull and Snaptrap. old tv add and the Transformers Wiki

I wanna remake that idea for lore purposes. Quickswitch isn't his *biological* son. Sixshot just called him his son since their both six changers and Quickswitch was based off Sixshot. Quickswitch then joins the autobots after seeing how evil his *father* really is.

My opinion on every mode: Robot: could be worse Hovercraft: quite decent Pistol: actually not too shabby Puma: nice try, but this mode definetly suffers Drill tank: best alt mode so far (for me anyway) Jet: better than the puma at least

For me the low two are pistol and puma. The jet works pretty decently for a g1 multiformer. Tank I agree is the best. Puma is horrid but that's at for g1. Hover craft is passable. The pistol is just the hover craft flipped over. And the robot mode is wierd but functional.

G1 Forever, but I also love Beast Wars/Machines, and then the Websodes trilogy was a fun adventure, and Favorite figures, Hot Rod, and Soundwave, and Ol StarScream, but i do like everyone somewhere

I don't know what was funnier- "Not the MAMA!" or the skit at the end. Thanks for making people laugh. It's a better time than ever to have a collection of things in one's house you can mess with and not be denied entertainment because of the quarantine. I never got into G1 much, but it's fun seeing these original Transformers.

As of November 21, 2023 I just bought that at HyperToy store in Pensacola and even though the guns are missing. I still love it. I use to have this toy when I was a weeeee boy, and meow at the age of middleage over 40 I can play this awesome G1 figure with my adult son. It's so fum, and a great collectable.

G1 toys to me have a certain charm. They are simple, but fun. Not too much complexity, but the transformation is satisfying, even for some people who didn't grow up in the era.

Wow, totally obscure Dinosaurs reference. Never thought I'd here that one again. That being said, seeing the box would have made it more disappointing to see the real figure because, like early console and PC game box art (I'm talking Atari and 386 games), the boxes made it look much more epic that the contents really were, so I think a paper towel tube is perfect for this reveal :D

Apparently, if this is the same character, Quickswitch is supposed to be Sixshot’s “son” which is why he has different modes other than the pistol and his beast mode is supposed to be a bull or bison or that may be a different iteration of Quickswitch based on this video 4:43 looks more like a hydrofoil boat

I was surprised that another six changer exsisted Emgo, like I forgot there was an autobot called Quickswitch long after watching Chris's Basics on Sixshot, and also given the fact that Hasbro like, abandoned the chance to create Quickswitch from Combiner Wars all the way up to Earthrise I never knew he was an actual character. so yeah, this figure was a huge surprise

It's difficult to tell sometimes if you were laughing or about to cry with the Puma mode. lol! I thought you would have said "Laser gun mode, now YOU can Pew Pew, Bang Bang... Pew Pew, Bang Bang!" Drill tank-Good. Jet mode- Alright (Blitzwing`s G1 jet was a flying brick, too! Let's not mention Broadside... ;-) ) Robot Mode- Good considering what they had to work with! Laser Pistol- Not too bad (Could be better, could be worse) Hovercraft- Alright (Floating brick, not too difficult to copy, lol) Space Puma- What the Hell? Myself, I've always preferred Quickswitch's blocky almost-something modes to Sixshot's janky kibble-heaps. Refer to them as Brickswitch and Sixblot. :)

Quick Switch aka Six Knight in Japan, was a great toy. He was simple and fun. I prefer the Japanese Masterforce show as Six Knight was great in it. America made Quick Switch, Six Shots son or having multiple personalities in his six modes.

Considering how much smaller he is than Sixshot, I'd say he's not a bad design; small bot, tall order! The fact his robot mode is the one that suffers the most other than beast mode just exacerbates his flaws because that's how people remember him. Sixshot had dud modes too but since his robot mode looks badass you can ignore the others.

Ah yes, the guy who transformed into five different shaped bricks. It's weird that he never appeared in the show but the repaint Sixknight did and yet this guy is more popular. The way I always imagined him beating his dad Sixshot was by transforming into hydrofoil mode and going through a narrow cave. Sixshot's jet mode is too wide and all his other modes would sink in the water.
