I love your approach to making videos and keeping me informed. Even if I don't care particularly about the subject, it's always fun to listen in grab a slice of knowledge and leave feeling entertained :) Cheers for making videos.

Hey George you say that your degree wasn’t particularly useful would you say that becoming an assistant is more useful and what is the best way to get started doing that?
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
I learnt a lot about acoustics from the degree, so I will give them that. Theres more than one route to becoming an assistant, its quite tricky at the moment. I'll have a think about it and see if I can put a video together that covers the basics at very least.

That would be really interesting to watch actually!

Really enjoyed this one! Would be interesting to see your go to drum mics, also definitely going to try the tube screamer through some room mics, that sounded awesome

I have a question about high-passing drums. Since high passing causes a phase shift I've heard that it would be better to use low shelving instead. I've always been worried about getting phase problems with room mics ect. if I high pass to much. Great Videos by the way, I really like your video editing and approach to mixing in general!
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
Phase issues with room mics shouldn’t be such a big issue due to the time delay. It depends on how far back they are obviously and you are correct with you shelf presumption IE reduced phase shift.

@@GeorgeLeverG1 do you ever line up the room mics with the transients of the snare top mic?
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
@@cameronbreen3094 they’re room mics. So if I line them up I ruin the natural pre delay of the space. So no, I never do this.
