Nathan’s desk needs some form of comical seating. An outrageous armchair perhaps? A really short flamingo themed stool? The possibilities are endless

Much love George. Keep posting. Yes to all the video ideas. Would like to see a "what and why" series of videos as I'm running a modest setup here and have found myself going down the rabbit hole of outboard gear to help get the sound I'm after in my head. Interested to see how the Fatso is implemented into the guitar chain and how that sounds etc.

Lovely studio! If you were sensitive to the desk, have you tried pushing the screen back to level with or behind the speakers? I find that much cleaner, sonically. 🤷♂️

Missing your Bluey vs Stam vid! I'm still waiting for the Stam SA-23A 4-in one LA2A/LA-3A/LA-4A I ordered FOREVER ago. Should be completed soon finally. Since, I decided to go into 500 series a bunch, so it's going to take up a lot of room! I really wish they made a great LA-2A 500, but haven't heard any that live up. Not the most "metal" compressor though I suppose..

Very nice setup! Have u thought about including a cloud above your listening space ? I’ve always been curious to how much that effects what you hear and if they are worth the hassle of hanging them with chains and stuff

Mate, not only is the studio looking great, this video looks incredible man, the lighting, y'know.... content is looking amazing dude. Super jealous of what's living in your rack too, lovely stuff in there. Not sure I'm sold on the micro-desk though haha. I like a good elbow lean. Oh and painting everything black, maybe with a few hidden LED accent light strips, yeah. Do it. #gothlife

I’m a bit late to this video, but on the off chance you see this: what are the dimensions of the room? My latest excuse is “my room isn’t big enough so that’s why my mixes suck”, but it actually looks a similar size... maybe I just need to face facts that I need to train my ears more and do at least some basic room treatment and setup 😅
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
It’s just a standard single garage style size. Maybe 9ft across / 17ft deep.

a mic shootout vid would be sick - maybe those against a dynamic mic like an sm57 & a cheap condenser like an at2020? this isn’t specific or with a vested interest at all aha ha

How much difference have you noticed with the micro desk? I notice on my Amphions top end is fatiguing and they're a little higher than I'd like. Thought about switching to a rack and a small table like that.
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
Hey dude. I think i've had a variation of this setup for maybe two years now. Slowly refining it down etc. If you can accommodate it, i'd definitely try it. The change is quite surreal because it highlights how much of a difference that mass under your speakers is making.

Nice 👍🏻. I wonder what’s the difference between using the converters vs a normal audio interface? (I’m new to the studio equipment world, hence the Q)
@GeorgeLeverG13 жыл бұрын
think about it the other way around - converters existed first and then the audio interface came after. they do the same job but in different ways.

Your setup is quite nice. I’d be curious to know your thoughts (in general) on ghostwriting *complete songs , from scratch to finish* for bands (or maybe even in the case of writing a considerable amount for a band who pay additional for such a service). Perhaps this might be too broad of a topic. I feel as though I don’t see as many straightforward observations of this, namely in the metal/rock scene. Do you see any change in what maybe used to be completely different that is now very normal with regards to ghostwriting and do you find this to be something to be compromising to the authenticity of bands and their music that’s released in these cases? Appreciate the content. I look forward to seeing your channel and all your endeavors expand 👌🏼
