The US had ALL of Latin America, Caribbean islands, and Africa at the US's disposal to invest fairly so the US and these countries benefited equally.They could have build infrastructure; roads schools, and invested in agricultural programs, electrical grids, and water dams. This would have eliminated immigration issues, corporations would have had a HUGE market, but instead the US government and their corporate donors decided to continue their exploitation of these countries' nature resources, coups, interventions, over throw government, restrict access to global markets, embargoes and propaganda campaigns. Carl, you should look up on how China just offered Chinese treasuries denominated in USD in Saudi Arabia at 2 billion USD, and it was oversubscribed at 40 billion. The interest rate is only 0.01% higher than what the US government borrowed at. This means that China can now offer USD treasuries at practically the same rate as the US government. This is a brilliant stroke of genius with many implications, all bad for the US.
