Tommy Seabee The 416 has an AR based design because the US military wanted a new standard assault rifle that uses STANAG mags and doesn't differ so much from the M4, that it would require a complete change of training procedures. HK build it for that audition, not because of how suppodestly "superior" the M4 design is in your eyes....which jams up to 6 times more often than a G36 by the way 😏

Considdering he's part of the H&K design team, it definitely was just another day on the job for him. Just like my captain during conscript training used to refer to some exercises as kindergarten exercises... Namely those exercises where our mortar platoon sent more budget down range in a few hours than a kindergarten gets as it's anual budget. Like the day we and another platoon fired six 12cm IR-homing, rocket boosted anti tank shells worth about 60'000 USD each at year 2003 exchange rates...

@ToddVWilliamson 8 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by "full size" but the G36 fires the same round as the M-16, a 5.56 mm / .223 caliber round, essentially a super fast .22 (a bit heavier, too), so the recoil is not really all that bad. If he was firing a "full size" round like a 7.62 mm / .308 caliber then he would not be one handing it like that.
@AdamRK78
@AdamRK78 8 жыл бұрын
I've fired a 5.56 rifle and I know the recoil but it still has an element of muzzle rise, especially in auto. He fires the whole thing like a pistol with only one hand.

I went back and looked again. Yeah, he might be bigger than average. I'm six feet tall and weigh around 200# and I experience very little rise when firing my AR. I've only fired a full-auto once in Nevada and it wasn't overly challenging to keep the barrel down.

was mainly someone trying to screw over the secretary of defense who was/is a hot contender of succeeding Merkel who deflected it by screwing over the company producing the G36 which might not be so bad as in forcing German weapon manufacturers to improve their quality controls and delivery commitments as they usually get a lot of leeway and subsidies to keep producing for germany which is not healthy to having an army that actually needs to go on missions but is on a tight budget.

Markus Alanen, AK-47 is probably the 2nd most overrated gun(behind the desert eagle). It is not as reliable as the myths surrounding it. Search youtube for "AK 47 mud test" or "AK 47 torture test". Most of the channels who have done them have videos of other rifles you can compare the AK to. I'm not saying it is a bad rifle, it is actually a very good one for general purpose assault rifles, but pales in comparison to many, many other rifles. Especially modern ones. I found some for you: AK47 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eomaZKiOqJirfbc AR15 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3LRlod8nt9ojbc
@HarryBalzak
@HarryBalzak 6 жыл бұрын
I don't play CoD. I shoot in real life. In reality the AK47 is nowhere close to as reliable as its reputation, but it is still a good weapon. The desert Eagle .50AE is probably the most over rated gun due to its proliferation in film and video games. In reality it is a piece of shit. It is heavy, expensive, poorly balanced, extremely prone to jamming, and no matter what you want to use it for, there is another weapon that will fulfill that task better. I am also probably old enough to be your grandfather, judging by your sophomoric attitude and presumptuousness.
@HarryBalzak
@HarryBalzak 6 жыл бұрын
Why do you keep mentioning video games? Do you have an obsession or something? "nobody thinks that." I see you have polled the entire planet and know that no one thinks the DE is a great gun. How exactly did you do that? I never said "overrated by shooters". I am speaking of the general population, you know, the ones that think AR stands for assault rifle and think "fully semi-auto" is a thing. The ones who play FPS games and watch action films thinking they are realistic. Perhaps you should hang out with some non military personnel sometime. You might be surprised how misinformed many are. Of course people with firearm knowledge know better. You are making a moot point. I have zero desire to be in the military(especially if its full of petulant twerps like you). I am not lying about my age. The way you speak is akin to a teenager. If you are over 18 years old you have some serious maturing to do, and I hope you are not actually in the military or around weapons. You should probably stop playing so many video games, too. It seems as though you cannot help but mention them. I also have no idea what submarines have to do with this.

MG36 prototypes had a HEATSINK on the handguard not only the heavy barrel, to prevent this. G36 problem is the barrel bends after 100 full auto shoots and lost ACCURACY.

Damn impressive that the G36 can fire more shots in a row without overheating than the AK-12! And above all, even more impressive when you consider that they only threw them away during this test because the G36 was on fire, so theoretically they could have continued shooting. A friend of mine who had served in the Bundeswehr at the time of conscription said to me that the G36 is a good assault rifle.

As a Brit I've got to say our German cousins have made some of the best weapons ever produced. In WW2 they were ahead of everybody and quality was superior to the east and west. Never has a better army been put in the field for a bad cause. What they achieved and against the odds they fought has got to be respected.

It has to be said that they focused their whole industry on producing war material. Germany needed the war because they would have gone bankrupt without it... And at the beginning of the war the french had far better armored and armed tanks like the Renault Char B1. Only the German 8,8 could penetrade it. A Char destroyed 13 Panzer III and IV in a few minutes during the Battle of the Stonne. But they had bad tactics and their behavior was very arrogant. French tanks had no radio communications and were not organised in quality tank division. So the germans fucked them with discipline and new tactics...

@torcid You're wrong. Yes, war was needed due to the debt.However: War time production wasn't forced in favor of consumer products till 1941... which then finally started to affect production in 1942 and subsequently in 1943 and 1944... but by then it was too little too late and allies outproduced Germany with everything... especially ammunition! And they (allies) had good access to resources like oil, rubber, iron etc.. Sure Germany invested heavily into it's war industry in the 30s, but be aware that was basically building it up from scratch after being demilitarized after WWI. Germany had a 4 year "ready for war"-plan ending in 1940, which means the war hit industry unprepared. Furthermore Germany didn't understand streamlined and mass production until the very end of the war. Which made maintaining and repairing the many different models of weapons in Wehrmacht use difficult and time-consuming. Production wasn't handed over to economic and logistic experts for a long time. Furthermore the forced labor from underfed foreign workers and KZ prisoners in no way can substitute a well trained motivated and fed workforce in a factory that is motivated by achieving victory and supporting their soldiers. In summation there's a reason for the Blitzkrieg Strategy. Leadership knew that they'd be outpaced in a long war... and that's exactly what happened. Luckily.
