Billy most likely placed a hacked PAC man into that arcade to play out the perfect game as he said he had the joystick gripped so tight. So nobody could tell he wasn't really playing. Bet money

The other problems I find with arcade games is when certain parts of the code are not properly written, these which cause the games to make what is known as a "kill screen." This is understandable since most arcade machine manufacturers had never believed any one person would ever play the machine for hours on end trying to get a champion's high score. For this game, the "kill screen" is in the form of the right side of the screen being taken up by the various characters built into the CHR-ROM, which occurs from level 19 on. On level 255, it's very hard to be able to finish the right side of the board, and you have to guess carefully where to go to avoid being ambushed by the ghosts.

This is great, but how is it possible to make a video about the Pac-Man phenomenon and not feature a single second of the "Pac-Man Fever" song? That mystery's so puzzling I'm gonna spend the rest of the day reflecting on it.
@ClassicTVMan1981X10 ай бұрын
I think they weren't able to secure the rights to that song; they may have had to pay B&G and/or Sony Music (the rightsholder) millions.

It was changed to "Pac-Man" for the U.S. because the original title had controversy. Why? Because they were concerned that vandals may scratch out part of the "P" in "Puck-Man" which changes the first word to something vulgar.

so am i the only who realizes that G4 couldn't afford a copy of PAC ATTACK? and probably all the other cartridge based games. I love emulation but its a bit strange when a multi-million dollar channel can't afford snes games, and most of G4's shows don't acknowledge Emulation and are pretty much are against it.

Railen Herman Either way, one thing that is odd is that the original episode was longer, in which Mitchell discussed some strategies of how he could take breaks by maneuvering Pac Man to certain spots, in which the ghosts could never get him. As they weren’t programmed to be able to reach every space on the board. As this version of the episode shows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWKWqKdmpZaLm6c Wonder if the scandal had something to do with this odd editing?
@nicolasmeisel Жыл бұрын
@@osurplessit possible. When he first start facing scandal? If not that I think another explanation would be advertising. In order to make more time for commercial advertising the network would need to edit content out. This is something early G4 shows might had to do because in the channel early years there weren't many sponsors. So commercial were short and often filled with just bumpers. Later more commercial breaks were either inserted. If the show couldn't make the edit, they would then just make breaks longer and trim time off the show.

I don't either; such criticisms of these ports really irk me. Most home consoles, be it the 2600 or ColecoVision or others, simply did not have all the graphical and sound capabilities of the original arcade machines. Pre-crash, the ColecoVision was the closest one could get to it, but when Nintendo first came out with its FamiCom in Japan one year after the CV, its graphics were better yet. When the renamed NES made it over here in 1985-86, we were stunned too by its sharper graphics!
