No, the judge has no business asking about her jewelery AND he was first on being humorous when he said "Bye bye" with a sarcastic tone and his face expression. All she did was to say "goodbye" in a different language and smile. So no, it was unfair!
@chriserwalk438610 жыл бұрын
4400seriesFAN He's asking because he's determining the bond amount. For example, if she's a flight risk, then setting a bond amount of $5,000 when she owns $50,000-worth of jewelry, houses, cars, etc. etc., then it wouldn't deter her from not appearing on her court date. She may not show up at all, so while she may not want to answer that question, then she's only doing herself a disservice.
@4400seriesFAN10 жыл бұрын
Grim Fandango OK, there goes that. He was still wrong to call her back for saying "Adios!"...
@chriserwalk438610 жыл бұрын
4400seriesFAN That's debatable. If he was actually being sarcastic, then I'm inclined to agree with you. I know a lot of people that actually say "bye-bye". The judge controls the courtroom. It would be no different if an offender began yelling and preventing a sexually-abused victim from testifying. If the judge doesn't control her behavior, then the next one may do the same thing. Eventually, he doesn't have control over his own courtroom.

@Over Yonder wow, way to simp for someone who's being blatantly disrespectful in court. If anything, he should've found her in contempt much earlier but held back. When you're before the court, you say yes/no your honour and answer any questions quickly, respectfully and most importantly honestly. Don't pussyfoot around the question and say "Rick Ross" when he wants a numerical estimate. Court is not the time to laugh or giggle. And he asked her if she was intoxicated because she was behaving unusually - turns out she was on drugs during this hearing. Her next appearance when she's sober is in stark contrast to this one, and the judge shows leniency and strikes some of the charges. And since the courtroom is his domain, you do what he says since your future is in his hands. I've seen people rack up so many charges on a courtroom and end up serving 15 years for what should've been 6 months because they couldn't keep their mouth shut.
