Honestly this is kinda f***ed up. He tells her "bye bye" (unformal) and gets the response "adios" (unformal). There is no justification for increasing her fine in the place taking legal proceeding. At most one could justify a complaint for unformal speach in a seperate legal proceeding. But with him being unformal in the first place, i dont see how that could be legally justified either. In what messed up legal systems/courts are judges allowed to alter their sentences based on their moods and feelings?

Freedom of speech was violated! She definitely should have came into court with a proper serious demeanor, however.. who is to know her character or possible psychological ailments besides a certified personal psychiatrist, if she has one. It’s a pretty basic US law. The ENTIRE point of contempt of court is when you’re being disrespectful or disruptive in a courtroom. The ENTIRE point of court, is to punish people. If she CHOOSES to be disrespectful, that is ENTIRELY her choice. Just because she doesn’t understand the laws of the country she is currently living in, is not the courts fault.
