I have a theory that Celestia and Luna were born as Alicorns by their Alicorn parents (there are fanfics that shows their Parents) Because they lived in Skyros, the Alicorn land, and Celestia said that Flurry Heart was the first born Alicorn in Equestria, but she never mentioned if Flurry Heart was also the first born Alicorn in the whole world, so basicly, Flurry Heart was the first born Alicorn in Equestria but not in the whole universe, because other alicorns were born as the same species there are, but only outside of Equestria, only in Skyros.

I like the idea that G5 represents an alternate timeline where the Student Six never succeeded the Mane Six (or failed) as the new embodiments of the Elements of Harmony. But the Windigos might have been kept out of New Equestria by the same shield that Twilight created to protect it from Opaline.

Even if Twilight didn't succeed and the rest of the Mane Six didn't manage to achieve their goals, there are other talented ponies, such as Maud Pie, Braeburn, Sapphire Shores, and Lightning Dust, who would be able to pick up the pieces and renew peace and harmony, because I don't think everypony would be sucked into this madness of pony tribe segregation. The only thing that would make G5 a separate universe is the absence of Changelings, Griffons, Hippogriffs, Kelpies, Abadas and Kirin. What did not feature in G4 were magical bunnies and various mammals that bore wings or horns.The only one who existed in both generations in person was Discord, who can appear anywhere at any period of time he wants. Was Twilight really a failure or were the writers about how G4 ended terrible at writing the plot. I can't believe ponies would divide over something as stupid as queue barging. Never mind Twilight beating Opaline, Starlight would succeed ten times better. What we need is a "Whaf if Starlight was made Princess of Canterlot?" video. And to think that Twilight's actions jeopardised the future of the Young Six, who would've potentially kept friendship going. There is a saying that history repeats itself, but it's absurd that ponies would forget literally everything for the span of a 1000 years. And the presence of internet and television certainly would make sure virtually nothing important and notable is forgotten. There's too much inconsistencies between both G4 and G5 to call one taking place after the first, so I'm more leaning towards the idea of an alternate universe with some pieces of the G4 universe leaking in. We all know Posey in G5 is a sort of reincarnation of Posey from G1.

don't believe that G5 is an alternate universe, they just believe those stupid things because of their toxic obsession with G4, for the following reasons: 1. The Young Six's house did appear in G5 along with Everfree Forest and the Castle of the Two Sisters, this was even the first place that the Mane Five visited, because that cherry tree surrounded by petals that was seen in New Generation is the House of Harmony created by the Young Six, this was confirmed by the creator of the movie's scenarios, but also in chapter 2 Seashell is reading a book about the Tree of Harmony and the image on the cover has the same image of that cherry tree, and we see that everything around it has ceased to exist. 2. The Wendigos no longer exist, they were destroyed when the trio of villains was defeated. 3. Twilight didn't fight for friendship, because as we know Twilight is immortal and had to see her friends die, and as Celestia said, what good is a princess of friendship without her friends? We also add the fact that Spike had to leave, things don't look good at all. 4. Those aren't cutie marks, dragons don't have cutie marks, I think those are symbols that represent what fire can do, whether it's teleportation like Spike or controlling water like Fountain.

Through riddle me this. What of Skyros? The Alicorn city that Celestia, Luna, AND Opaline grew up as Alicorns in G5's lore. All being natural born. That directly contradicts what we learned was Flurry Heart was born as the FIRST Alicorn that was born ever as one. All previous alicorns had to earn it.

My biggest piece of proof that it's an alternate universe... An Alicorn city exists in G5, that is where Celestia, Luna, AND Opaline grew up in. And the rest of them were BORN as Alicorns, during the time of their childhood. Which counteracts what we learned when Flurry Heart was born, that she was the FIRST Alicorn to be born as one. Now... If Opaline was a rival unicorn student of Starswirl and out of hatred for Celestia and Luna left in anger... Now THAT would make sense

As much as I dislike the notion of G5 being in the same universe, and absolutely believe it's set in an AU, if Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns but not in Equestria, then Equestria would not have seen the birth of an Alicorn. IIRC The Journal of the Two Sisters backs that up, though I would have to reread that to be certain. There are other things that are inconsistent with the lore of G4, but sadly I don't think that's one of them.

Multiverses are a common trope in all manner of stories, the most popular of which is likely Marvel. With that said, I don't see how one could argue that a sequel to a series that dealt extensively with alternate universes and timelines, can't possibly be set in an alternate universe or timeline.

Hasbro made the future Luna's Song warned about from that one Hearth's Warming story Twilight read Starlight a reality. "The future should be filled with magic; dreams and wishes brought to life, but the days ahead are dark and tragic; no time for hope when all is strife." I believe the evidence that it is an alternate future is far more compelling than the evidence that it isn't though, so you can breathe a sigh of relief.

There is a reason why argolye wouldn’t be able to publish book. Sprout’s mother. She basically branded Sunny’s father as the town crazy pony and ended up doing the same to sunny. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had an indirect involvement of argolye’s death. Maybe the earth ponies that were inthralled by the hatred thought that if they got rid of argolye they could convince sunny to change and save her. Is there actually any proof that Twilight Sparkle and her friends from the G4 timeline existed in MLP G5 since there are so many unanswered questions like what happened to her after trapping Opaline and is any of the G5 ponies a descendent of the G4 ponies in an Equestria where the Earth ponies, Pegasus and Unicorn are all prejudiced on each other with no Alicorn before Sunny became one? But if they did exist, how come they were no mention, toys or monuments of Princess Celestia and Luna since they were the first rulers of Equestria?

Once I realized that fact I was able to get into G5 a lot more. Without the controversy it's just a mediocre generation with some highs and lows that ultimately ended up being underwhelming, but was mostly at least passable pony content for the duration of its run.
