True professional work. There’s a lot of guys that call themselves pros but very few with the level of knowledge and attention to detail that you guys demonstrate.

This series was very informative. I rec'd 2023 M3Jahre from factory that sat for a bit both at port and on the boat and the paint was thrashed, water etching on entire front, and adhesive from the spoiler that is so hard it hasn't come out yet. Had professional detailer do paint correction and had PPF installed on entire front, roof, wear areas. It came out pretty good, but the detailer and I decided he not tackle the adhesive, because off the risk. The car was NOT prepped by dealer, so this is all transport and install. The adhesive reminds me of dried concrete on paint, it's not your typical glue adhesive, it's hard and you can feel it above and etched into the paint. TarX hasn't touched it, going to try KCX EU next, and 'might" use Rupes Blue compound with their yellow wool, haven't decided yet. It's scheduled to be looked at in the New Year to remove the spoiler but and compound but I'm concerned that a repaint may be in order.

This is probably DuPont Betalink K1. I believe this is what BMW uses at port. It’s essentially an epoxy. If you search you can find some discussion on removing it, but it’s never easy. DuPont themselves may be able to point you to a solvent that would attack it.

Great video with valuable information for those of us that are constantly dealing with water spots on customer’s cars. I have only tried Gyeon PPF Renew to remove water spots on PPF. It did not work. Appreciate the info on more advanced techniques to try using polishing pads and Menzerna Heavy Cut!

Good topic. Thanks for sharing some good info. What sucks is when you have a vehicle with really thin clear and have water spots that have etched. Hit one time with a microfiber pad and compound on a DA and thought they were gone but they came back. I also used a water spot remover before polishing. Now I’m too scared to put a polisher on it again. I’ve thought about trying wheel acid but I’m afraid they have etched too deep

Are you saying water spots can get through PPF? How is that possible?

Thanks for this #sick

What was the acid used?

We used two acids- Gyeon Waterspot and Koch Chemie Wheel Cleaner FCL. Both links are in the description 🫡

I find it funny how in this video he said “just for testing purposes only” he let MotorPlast sit over the weekend to see how it would be but in part 1 of his f80 video at 1:25:24 he said he put it on and got busy and left it over the weekend. Obviously completely understandable how that can happen but I wouldn’t ever trust a business that blatantly lied and made it seem like it was all part of the plan. If your going to lie to your customers don’t put it on the internet.
