I'm wondering if the rust inside the screw housing is actually to do with galvanic corrosion between the carbon and steel? Generally a layer of fibreglass is added between metal(s) and carbon fibre to prevent this from happening...

I hope not. If it is, then pretty much every modern G-Shock is f. Almost all of them are Carbon with metal screws in direct contact.

But can you thread into fiberglass? I guess if so Casio would have to add a little fiberglass sleeve to act as a thread insert. Just surprising to see since Casio is usually very good about their engineering.

@@gshockhighfashion It's quite probable, stainless steel won't corrode anywhere near as bad as aluminium for example but it will likely get small rust spots over time if exposed to moisture...

@@RobertNES816 That is an excellent question! It would I assume depend on the application, so the polymer/resin used would need to be the same, however on most applications like this a bolt or metal housing is added to screw into.

@@ArashBagheri Yup that's normal , bttery's life is 2 years MAXIMUM , when you had your watch mybe the batterys was in for 1 year or more , i have exactly the same problem , you need to change batterys that's all ^^

This might be the dumbest question ever but does the crown lead to the gears or does it lead to the circuit board which tells the hands to move leaving out a need for any gears at all.

interesting, maybe the movement would fit but the buttons placement wouldn't be similar & the index markers definitely wouldn't fit under the glass

From what l learn after looking at vintage G-Shocks prices those that have values long term are typically G-Shock with crazy colors, with sharp edges shaped or with bulky design.
