The GA2100 gshock, also known as Casio Royal Oak, AP G-Shock and Casioak.
The GA-2100 has gotten a lot of attention from people that are not into G-Shocks usually, and that is the result of a much cleaner and simpler design of this model. It looks a lot more serious, and less like a toy. I personally LOVE the design and love the size! The GA 2100 comes in more and more color variations meaning Casio is aware of it's success. Although I got this all black version that looks the coolest, if I were to buy again, I would got for the regular black and white, as the legibility on this is pretty poor for everyday wear!
We didn't have to wait too long as aftermarket steel bezel and bracelets are available.
The first two generations were so-so but this 3rd one really transforms the GA2100 into a real Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. It costs almost as much as the watch itself, but who cares, it creates a beautiful and tough Casioak :)
The only problem is that the flaring of the end links make this impossible to wear on anything smaller than 7", so if you have a large wrist, I envy you :)

I would think about it as expansive. When you buy a low-price automatic, you mostly pay for the design and the braclet not for the movement which is quit cheap. If the quality of the bracelet is good I think it is worth it. I'm now considering buying both watch and modpack.

If you play with the side case flathead screws a little and align them while fitting it does a lot for the final look

I think I still prefer the Gshock style metal bezel/band to this style that attempts to make it less G-Shock. I don't want the fake screws. I'd rather have the "G-Shock" and "Protection" stamps with a G-Shock style band. But glad this is out there for those that want it.

I can't say I'm a fan of that strap, as it looks too sharp at the edges and a good fit isn't guaranteed as the clasp doesn't allow for small adjustments. The 1st versions looked MUCH nicer.

I don't get this hype. For me a G-Shock watch should have all functions possible (like Frogman, Rangeman, etc), the only time-only G-Shocks I like are Square models. The GA-2100 models are unnecessary IMHO. Just like the 7 colorways of the same Timex Q Reissue.

The underside edges on these are way too harsh. I manually machined the inside strap and gave it bevels. Much more comfortable now.

How do you remove the links to adjust it. Im unscrewing it with a small flathead screwdriver but now the screw wont turn anymore. Is it pressure fitted in and just looks like it screws in?

Yes it would actually... definitely would give a sporty vibe... be careful with this mod though, if your wrist is 7” or lower it won’t fit as nicely.

I also think it still looks good but preferred the other one. I am super happy with it and I have a rather small wrist (~ 7,1 in). It fits pretty snug now and I had the opportunity to even go down three links!
