Thanks for the honest review of my airbrush. It's very much appreciated

No worries, I have really been impressed with its performance over my last couple of builds especially with how well it sprays using the fan cap. I am more than happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a new airbrush😁👍

Great review mate, I have one of these airbrushes regarding the trigger all you need to do is remove it, squeeze the prongs together a tad then re install then the slop is gone.

Thanks for the feedback Brett, I did do this but there’s still slop on the trigger thought it doesn’t make any adverse effect in the operation of the airbrush. I used it properly last night painting a 48th scale A10, it put down the paint beautifully 👍

This looks to be a great airbrush, I know AB use is down to the individual user, so some will say it's great others may not, glad you haveca grest time with your own AB's, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les

Thanks Les, the Gaahleri airbrushes certainly work very well and aren’t too expensive for the ordinary modeller. I hope your keeping well and thank you for your continued support 👍😁

Thanks for the honest review. I subscribe to Barbatos Rex as well whose channel does a lot of evaluations of airbrushes and airbrush accessories. I just purchased this airbrush; I am a new airbrush hobbyist and subscriber 😊. Is there anything I can do to improve the trigger issue you mentioned?
@KitchenTableModeller6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the sub and feedback it’s much appreciated. Either way regards the trigger I would say wait to revive your airbrush to see if it has as much play in the pivot point as mine did. To reduce the play I unscrewed the pivot screw and removed the trigger from the body of the airbrush, once free from the body I gently squeezed the opens end of the trigger to close the gap slightly with just my finger pressure nothing more. Once squeezed to a point I was happy I re assembled the trigger to the airbrush and fount it to be better but not totally play free. As I said in my review the play in the trigger does not adversely affect the operation of the airbrush at all. Enjoy getting into the world of airbrushing once started you’ll never go back👍

Did you do a vid on spraying with the Swallowtail?
@KitchenTableModeller4 ай бұрын
Hi there, if you want to look at Part 11 of my Catalina build I use the swallowtail with fan cap to spray the primer coat. I am planning to use the airbrush with the finest tip nozzle setup for painting my current build of the Border Models Spitfire. From what I’ve used it so far it’s a fantastic but of kit👍

@@KitchenTableModeller Wondering how it ccompares to the Creos PS-290 or a Grex Tritium. Thanks for this video!
@KitchenTableModeller6 күн бұрын
@lenient1438 I’m not sure about the Grex airbrush as I don’t have any, but the Swallowtail compares very well indeed to the PS-290 which I have. The 290 needs more air and is more expensive especially when you compare what you get in the swallowtail package agains the the 290, the only benefit of the 290 is that the fan cap is included with the kit at purchase as apposed to the swallowtail which you have to buy it separately. The new Swallowtail SD though has the fan cap included in the kit but has lost the 0.7mm needle/nozzle set instead. Overall I would buy the Swallowtail over the 290 any day even if I have to spend the extra £15 for the fan cap, if you watch my end of year Gaahleri round up video I go into more depth about these airbrushes and my thoughts on how they perform and the value they bring to modellers.
