There is so much information out there on making business models and business plans. Most of these resources I find hard to digest. This is by far the best material out there. Massive thumbs up.

The most ingenious move by Nespresso was including a substantial sampler pack of pods with the machine so idiots like me literally did not notice that I couldn't buy them at any store until I was already12 cups into bliss. I was very confused when I couldn't find the pods at the store where I bought the machine.... or at any store for that matter. So, I ordered online. Their product was so unique that I didn't even look for pods at the time because I needed to sample to see what I liked, and they included enough to last me a week so I didn't try to guess. Just mindblowingly smart on so many levels.

Thanks to you Gonzalo for sharing, this information rich presentation.was well done. The explanation of the design phase, for the benefit of people who did not get it, is the creation of multiple business models for the same products or services thereby arriving at a close to optimal design. .

You have a lovely sounding voice and this is brilliant advice. I am a creative designer with a background as broad as industrial, concept, graphic and web design, and so trying to simplify my product has been a huge challenge for me personally. Frameworks such as this liberate one from feeling as though you are strapped in to your business plan, and make the planning itself a much more creative act of design. I know a lot about more high end design methodology used for planning and innovation, if you'd ever feel that you could use such expertise, I'd be happy to return some time back to you!

For a video that's largely about the value of visual information in working through complex challenges (like creating a business model), it's wonderfully ironic that the producer made a choice to include a talking head in the bottom left quadrant of the video that adds next-to-no meaningful information to the presentation while actually blocking out relevant information that's contained on many of the slides and images within the video.
@jipjip2138 жыл бұрын
I know I'm not on my own in that I prefer to see the person talking to me, gives videos a personalized feel. Like it's being delivered specifically to me and not just boring information sitting there. Seems to give it more credibility. We all learn differently.
@AC-gw4qu8 жыл бұрын
Does the person's image have to be onscreen the entire time? Or could it be more effective if editing is used to show the person briefly and then focus on the content that is the actual focus of the video?

@@1979WURST It's often very helpful to get feedback like the sort that AC offered. Not only that, but AC didn't (refreshingly so, for an anonymous internet poster) use any profanity or launch into an ad hominem attack. If I produced that video, I'd thank AC. :)

With his 'strategyzer' attempt, Alex Osterwalder wishes to position himself as a Strategy thought leader. It's not just a complete vexation of the profession, but Strategy professionals are simply offended by such surrogate ideas promoters and by their simplistic approach attempts, which do more harm than good. This is the 'pop-art' of Strategy, developed on the living-room sofa, having nothing to do with the science of Strategy Management. What Osterwalder did was to take Prof. Clayton Christensen's 'job-to-be-done' concept and wrap it up in his Cartoon Network style, and bombastically presented it as 'Value Proposition Canvas'. If he would have read a few more books, written by the real Strategy thought leaders, he would have realized that the Value Proposition contains many more option areas than just the Best Product one. There are at least 10 option areas on the Value Proposition side (how-to-win) and another 10 on the Market Boundaries side (where-to-play). .

This is a terrible presentation. The content may be ok, the delivery is awful. They need to have a proper voiceover who can make the subject interesting, and not obscure the bottom corner of the screen with a video of the narrator which not only doesn't add anything visually, but obstructs the slides and who is boring to listen to. I tuned out.
@pacopersia6 жыл бұрын
Robin Siegerman i didnt find the presenter boring to listen to, he is the inventor of the business model canvas and no one can communicafe the core idea more effective and more passionately than him. I agree I did not need to have his video not obscuring the bottom corner,
