I always imagined a trained palkia using spacial rend as not just a powerful pointy attack like everyone potrays, but also one that he combines with his hability to distort and control space, for example: If he wants to make a clean cut, he uses his power to stretch the perception of the foe according to the constant. The foe may not feel anything at first, but he'll see how everything "squeezes" till he can't see anything. Meanwhile, both Palkia and the audience see the opp stretching horizontally like he's dough for bread or pizza. Then he hits the opponent, and everything goes back to normal. The resulting cut would be very clean, like a few nanometers wide, that he may not even feel it at first before stepping in and falling appart cut in half, because while he performed a cut that may not have been very fine (estimate 5-10mm), the opp was horizontally stretched and "upscaled". The same way, would be more exhausting, he can "downscale" the opponent and performing a cut that turns out to be like he was hit by a giant hammer. He can take a piece of the "downscaled" opponent (like his head or abdomen) and, when wearing off the space distortion, the flesh in his hand will just explode, trait he may be able to use to "spit exploding pokemon guts" into enemy trainers

Nidoran, Munna, Clefairy and Jigglypuff pokemon evolution lines came from Mt. moon, which is a large rock from the moon that hit the earth. So, Jigglypuff WAS technically kind of the pokemon that killed the dinosaurs. Or from the pokemon view, they've killed the fossil pokemons.

I truly hate the fact that Fairy types take no damage from dragon moves it doesn’t make any sense from moves like roar of time Draco meteor spacial rend and dragon rush how the hell is it that they do no damage at all even in most myths involving them dragons are some of the most feared creatures in myth known for their destructive abilities but somehow a fairy is a counter that just ain’t right

Probably a mix of a few things. Dragons represent raw power, while the fey folk are consummate tricksters. It's not so much being unaffected as wrapping the opponent in illusions as a matter of course. Fey folk also tend to give the hero the weapon that slays the dragon in the end. The developers also threw the type in to nerf overly prevalent ones, in VGC.
