It shows how delusional she is. Even Shane Dawson or Jeffree Star would have tried a different tactic. I think she truly believes that she didn’t do or say anything that was that bad. She is treating lying about sexual assault like it’s no big deal and the fact that Jessi is upset is JESSI being unreasonable. Why? Because she is a narcissist. Straight up, 100% no cap.

@DanielleStarry3 жыл бұрын
@@HintofElation edit: I forgot to say THANK YOU! yeah. Ugh. He plead guilty to the lesser charge of felony assault, and his sentence was a joke. I think they made him pay Jessi like $20. I’m exaggerating on the low dollar amount, but it was a tiny amount of money that she did not want or need. I just feel like it’s necessary to keep reminding people that this was a criminal case and that he was convicted of a felony, bc when people talk about it they say, “allegedly” “accusations” and that “Jessi dropped the charges.” It was not a civil suit, it was not an “exposed” video w/ a subsequent cancellation, nor trial in the court of public opinion. It was a real criminal investigation that led to felony charges and a conviction. It drives me nuts that so many people can’t get that right.

@@DanielleStarry good God I didn't know about the money part. Like....I don't speak for anyone except myself here, but I don't want any money from my rapist. Gross. That would basically make me feel like a prostitute after the fact, like he'd just be paying a paltry amount for what he took from me, and tbh any amount of money would feel like an insult because it puts a dollar amount on my body which he took without my permission. (My situation was basically exactly like jessi's). Aaaand to be crystal clear here, I'm not saying sex workers are gross or worthless or any generalization like that. Honestly get your bag and support your family however you have to/feel comfortable with. But turning a rape into a monetary transaction is the gross part. Your $20 doesn't magically create consent. Ugh, I'd go about my life feeling like every time I spent $20 that it was THAT $20. She's gotta be much stronger than me for getting through that.

I've been in a similar situation to that phone call. It's devastating. They,(people who call and spout such hurtful bs), have no interest in anything outside of the narrative inside their own head. They honestly believe they are justified in their actions, regardless of the evidence, or the harm their actions cause. I felt like I was going crazy, and I simply couldn't comprehend what was happening, how I had become the bad person for having had something awful happen to me. People I was supposed to be able to trust during such a difficult time, who were meant to be my friends were treating me so badly that I was driven to a panic attack from the relentless attacks from them. It was a living nightmare. I can't understand this kind of behaviour. I hate that anyone else has had to go through anything like this. It's been ten years since I experienced that. I still remember it viscerally. And people wonder why so many a buse/a ssault victims&survivors refuse to come forward... I feel awful for jessi. Edit for spelling.

The fact that Gabbie has managed to insert herself into Jessie's story - to the point that Jessie as a victim has no control over the narrative, and wants an apology like somehow she's the most victimized individual with what happened is truly sickening. She's centering herself around another woman's sexual assault - it's absolutely disgusting. Even if Jessie was off base with everything (which clearly she's not) It would STILL be disgusting.

Gabbie literally has not an empathetic bone - or even the tiniest speck of empathy - in her entire body. How could she carry on talking over Jessi when she was quite clearly distraught? I turned away so I couldn’t see Jessi in order to have the same experience as Gabbie (as she couldn’t see Jessi) but, even with my eyes closed, it was so obvious that Jessi was struggling.
@MalO.ver1.0.x3 жыл бұрын
It's not so much that she talked over her, but rather the *way* she talked over her. She simply tossed Jessi's experience aside with a quick "Yeah, I heard your story - " as if it was indeed just a story, not something utterly horrific that happened to a person she herself (probably) claimed to be friends with. It's rather simple: Gabbie has no empathy. Her narcissism makes sure to keep it all for herself.

I think something that isn't talked about enough is how detailed Rachel Oats was critiquing Gabbies book. I mean she went into iambic pentameter, anapestic pentameter, trochaic pentameter... all the pentameters. She used words to describe portions of lines or whatever that I've never even heard of before. Like Rachel legit, no joke, knows all the poetry things... I think it's kind of wild that no one is talking about just HOW in depth Rachel is and how wild it is that Gabbie is calling her a bully. The reason Gabbie went so hard for Rachel is out of everyone talking about Gabbies book Rachel is the only one that can pin point why it's not good in detail with poetry specific words and examples. Rachel intimidated Gabbie. Gabbie is a "new york times bestseller" and I will bet my life that Gabbie didn't know half the words Rachel was using either. She's such a narcissist that she couldnt stand the fact that she played herself by underestimating Rachel and that she's a level 2000 Poetry Boss. What I’m learning is that Gabbie doesn’t have friends; she has pawns. She’s a /bad/ person. She wanted to hear Curtis out not to get his side of his story, but she wanted to hurt Jessi. She wanted to denounce Jessi publicly and call her a liar. She just wanted to find one small inconsistency so she could call her a liar. Curtis admitted to it and she couldn’t go on a tirade to call Jessi out on lying. She still got what she wanted because when she told Jessi what she did Jessi was still hurt. So she got her little revenge. Not only that but Gabbie loves to trauma dump to get the upper hand. Why else would she shout out that she’s feeling like unaliving herself when Jessi calling out for what she did. Gabbie isn’t going to comment [publicly] because she can’t change the public narrative. However, I bet you she’s going off in her patreon calling Jessi a liar, she’s putting out a smear campaign, she edited stuff out, she didn’t actually give consent, etc. etc. And when that goes public and any of us say well you supposedly also recorded the conversation and she can put it out. She’ll lie and say she either didn’t record it or “I’m not insane I don’t keep things for that long” even though we know it’s not true and she has flash drives of multiple conversations. And lol at the idea of Gabbie giving a heart felt apology. She can’t and won’t do that. Even if she could I don’t want it. She tried to call Jessi a liar. Jessi proved she wasn’t a liar. Gabbie sucks and can’t redeem herself in my eyes. I’m hoping this boosts this to the algorithm!

I’m sorry, but even if Rachel had bashed Gabby’s book and made an entire video with nothing but jokes about it, Gabby’s reaction still wouldn’t be warranted. Even though it’s extremely personal to her, even though it was an exploration of her trauma, even though it was a healing thing for her - Gabby’s book was A PRODUCT that people buy with their money. If she wanted it to be nothing but an exploration of her trauma and something open to no critique, she shouldn’t have published it. Books get bad reviews, and a book being about hard and important topics doesn’t make it good. The person who owed her constructive criticism was her editor, not the people who buy her product and put money on her pocket. Reviews are for other readers to know whether or not they want to give a book their money and time, not for authors - and especially not authors who can’t handle criticism and bad reviews.
