@@celiathirimanna5118 Personally, I am definitely in favor of being open about as of yet heavily stigmatized topics such as suicidal ideation because I believe the more we openly talk about it, the more we can combat that stigma and notion that struggling in that way makes one weak. But for me, there is a clear difference between being open about the topic and using this topic to manipulate one's audience. To be honest, I only saw clips of her video that others had posted because I too do not want to give her views. But from what I have seen she is a) using suicidal ideation to garner sympathy and b) doing it in a way that I personally find harmful. The way she acts in that video and others in regard to mental illnesses themselves is, in my opinion, furthering negative stereotypes about mental illnesses. Her whole "I am so crazy" spiel is incredibly harmful in that regard. Not only do people who see this behavior use it to justify their condemnation and discrimination of people with mental illnesses, the whole thing also makes it so much more difficult for people who struggle with mental illnesses to open up about them, for fear of being judged or looked at as "crazy". If her video was indeed an honest cry for help, then I am really hoping that people in her life will listen and get her that help. Her fans and audience cannot do that, simply due to the nature of the whole "famous person/influencer - fans/audience" notion. And I hope receiving such help will lead her to analyze her own actions and realize how using mental illnesses as an excuse and, as she herself has admitted, "acting up being crazy" is extremly harmful.

my old roommate was like this. It's insane how crazy you feel when you're the one who was actually traumatized but the person who traumatized you claims it as their own trauma. Its like Gabbie and people like her are unintentionally gaslighting the people that they traumatized. The crazy thing is, Gabbie really feels like she is the victim because she went though trauma years ago and now believes that everyone else owes her an apology and reparations for what she went through years ago. My old roommate did this exact thing. She felt like everyone was obligated to go above and beyond for her because she was victimized when she was young. Now she expects too much from everyone so when no one gives her more than they need to, she feels shortchanged and victimized. It's a constant cycle of victimization that is completely created and sustained by the person themself. The only real victimization or trauma in this situation is the original trauma that she cannot resolve by herself. Gabbie and my old roommate have this exact complex in common. It's incredibly damaging to everyone around them.

Yes! Gabbie thinks people owe her an apology for feeling upset at her misdeeds. Here's the bottom line: (1) Nobody owes anyone anything at all, even if they did something wrong. You are not entitled to an apology even if you are a true victim. It would be nice and ideal to get one, but not everyone is going to give one. Be the bigger person, resolve your trauma, and move on. The best revenge is bettering yourself. (2)If you want an apology back, make yours sincere. Don't apologize to "unlock" an apology from someone else. Just because you apologized to someone does not mean they have to apologize to you. Your apology also does not guarantee their forgiveness. Some people never learned this and it's crazy to me!

Even if I wasn’t friends with someone anymore, I would never in my life disrespect them in that way. You don’t have to like them to show a basic level respect to someone especially when it’s their trauma involved. Anyone who argues that was Gabbies trauma as well needs to step aside cause it is not. Gabbie has her own traumas no doubt but you don’t see Jessie throwing those around like it was her story to tell. That’s because Jessie understands how it feels to have that happen and it has yet to end. One of the reasons I have an awful relationship with certain family members is that they continue to support someone who’s been accused of SA his own kids and others. They always play it off as “oh well they were all pretty unstable people anyways so who really knows the truth”. Gabbie and Angelika aren’t comparable in the SLIGHTEST. I wish people would learn how to have perspective for once in their lives. Not to mention she's using this language while speaking *to the rape victim* on a call. Yes, trauma doesn't heal easily. You have every right to never forgive, even if you somewhat forget what happened. You have every right to talk about it if you are comfortable and feeling safe enough. Trauma is trauma. Some heal, some don't and both still are able to live a happy life.

that's not ACTUALLY what she believes though. it just makes her feel better to think "that was so long ago- i was a different person. i've grown since then." to distance herself from the person who did those things (HER). notice how with her own trauma, even childhood trauma, even HER OWN SA, she feels fine processing it in her own time. feels valid cutting it out from a recorded convo. she gives herself grace, but not others if it impedes on what a wonderful person she pretends to be. fascinating when people hold themselves to a different standard than they hold others.

GH is seriously so self absorbed. Why is she so convinced that everyone on the internet cares sooo much about bringing her down? No, honey. We aren’t obsessed with you. Your actions are insane and laughable, that’s why we talk about you. She’s definitely struggling with diagnosable disorders other than ADHD and I hope she eventually seeks help for her bizarre way of thinking
@starrynight48943 жыл бұрын
On one hand, I have ADHD myself and can understand why she feels the need to speak about everything that involves her. Sometimes it really does feel like the entire world is against you, especially when you aren’t being listened to or believed in certain situations. Sometimes we just really need to vent out our frustrations because it’s hard to keep these feelings bottled up inside, even if we end up repeating ourselves to no avail. It’s a suffocating feeling that I wouldn’t want anyone to experience. But on the other hand, the level of shit she’s done and the lack of responsibility for her actions is far beyond ADHD symptoms. I honestly hate how she blames some of her actions on others and her mental health. Yeah, I get that she struggles as well, but she needs to realize that her mental illnesses don’t control her actions, SHE controls her actions. All her ADHD does is make her experience the world differently and make her feel a certain way. How she chooses to conduct herself from these feelings is entirely on her. I feel like she needs a lot of therapy and a load of time off the internet until she gets it through her head that not everything is about her, that other people suffer too even if it’s not to the degree of her suffering. This isn’t the fucking Oppression Olympics. There are many people with ADHD, myself included, who would never go as far as to do this stupid shit to defend ourselves because that level of embarrassment and social discourse is detrimental to our health. Edit: Spelling mistakes.

@alliebrowning88753 жыл бұрын
@@starrynight4894 I completely agree. The only thing a person can control is their actions. A disorder can cause impulses and, sure, sometimes it’s really hard to maintain some self control when we’re feeling really intense emotions about something, but a disorder doesn’t force someone or make someone act a certain way. Nobody can help how they feel, but everyone can take some ownership and control over how they interact with the world around them. I suspect she could have borderline personality disorder, which I have as well. Her symptoms are sooo reminiscent of how I was before treatment. It’s like having all of your emotions dialed up to 100 all the time, especially the negative and hurtful ones. Any hate received online can and will feel excruciatingly hurtful to someone in her position that had this disorder, so I can empathize with how overwhelming that is. That, plus the disorder goes hand in hand with high impulses and paranoia. Which Gabbie obviously has. If she does have it, she really needs to get very specific types of help and I really hope she does. Borderline has a huuuge stigma around it, and everything she does feels like a slap in the face. An adult, no matter what diagnosis they have or what things they struggle with, should be able to have self-control over themselves.
@starrynight48943 жыл бұрын
@@alliebrowning8875 Yep. Most people diagnosed with ADHD usually have other disorders as well. People fail to realize that it isn’t just a learning disability, it’s something that affects the way you perceive things and function in your day to day life. Well, people in general just fail to acknowledge mental health as a whole. Nowadays having a mental illness is “cute” and “quirky,” it’s so disgusting. There’s nothing cute about someone else’s suffering. The fact that so many people(especially on TikTok and Twitter) are now faking mental illnesses so they gain some internet points or attention, makes my blood boil. It especially makes me upset when they fake something like DID, an extremely rare dissociative disorder that barely makes up 1% of the population. “It’s as common as having red hair1!!11!” Yeah fucking right, it isn’t. There are mental health experts that are debating on whether or not it actually exists. The behavior these people are exhibiting is extremely harmful to the mental health community. Our issues and suffering are becoming so normalized that they make it seem like EVERYONE else experiences these things when they don’t. Some people are born with it, some people have had horrific experiences which led up to the development of them. I’d fucking kill to be “normal” just for a day, so I can actually get things done and make progress with moving my life forward. Words cannot express my anger towards these people who make mental health look like it’s universally a relatable thing.

Gabbie really needs to look at who is her real abuser and bully. It is herself. As someone with bpd, my brain likes to take criticism or situations thay don't favor my own idea of myself and run wild. People can go from good to bad in a small interaction. Does that mean that the criticism wasnt valid? Does that mean this person is evil? No. It means my brain is trying to isolate me from seeing the situation in real reality because my ego is fragile. I am often my own worst enemy and part of taking accountability is taking responsibility of your own mental health. And a part of that at times is looking at yourself and going no... no.. your not in the right no no they are not the problem you are. They have a right to feel this way and it's not bad to have to work on it. It's one reason I don't believe any of Gabbies appologys. All of them have a I fucked up but it's not my fault let me explain why it's not my fault air... when in reality thats not someone sorry that's someone just wanting to be seen in a good light. My therapist told me an appology is an action not a string of words. The action is to learn to not do the wrong thing again, the action is to educate yourself the action is realizing yes you are in the wrong and you are the only one who can make the wrong right. If that means accepting that you are indeed an asshole than take the L and realize your hurting the other party more than the pain you feel. An appology is just I fucked up, can I make it better? If not I'm sorry I caused this pain I hope one day you can heal from it but I will also prevent myself from inflicting the same pain I caused you onto others. The fact Gabbie thinks SHE needs an appology from anyone, means she doesn't think she was in the wrong at all. That's elementary school. Fight your real bully Gabbie, before you lose your real friends and not these "yes man" stans who put you on a platform of virtute. Your real friends will tell you what you did wrong and will be upset with you for doing it, but they tell you because they care.
