One of the lawyers representing the parents of Gabby Petito told WFLA.com on Friday that there is more evidence they would like to see released from the Laundrie family.
The Laundrie family’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, released eight pages of Brian Laundrie’s notebook on Friday that included what appeared to be a confession that he killed his fiancée.

He also used her bank card on the way back.. so took her van, used her bank card, knowing he had killed her and left her there. Tried to fool her parents by sending text messages pretending to be her-Abhorrent behaviour at every step of the way.

Yes that’s always bothered me about using her card because someone like the family or someone trustworthy said that Brian had plenty of money himself. I think they also mentioned he had her pay for most, something like that, of the trip. And remember it was her van I have a horrible memory lol. But I do remember thinking wow. He’s worse then we thought. To her mostly I mean

Correct. He was a worthless piece of ish and I’m sure he’s rotting in 🔥 .Yes I fully believe he told his parents what he had done when he got back. And they knew he was going to that reserve. Yeah Brian heard a scream alright and a splash, because he hit her with a rock and bashed her head in the creek. Then had second thoughts about it. And then finally finished her off by choking the life out of her. And this probably was not the first time he had done something like this. It just was the first time that he went all the way through with it.

I agree. Just by following this case I've always felt that he grew up with his parents cleaning up after him. I believe he was very immature yet arrogant. I think he believed that people believed his BS. Gabby had figured him out. For someone to question his BS pissed him off. To be honest I think Gabby might have been a hitter. Slapping him maybe? His response would be to beat her up. It probably became more frequent. I digress & believe his parents "fixed" his "mistakes" all the time.

I find it amazing that on the 12th Brian couldn't afford a motel room and the Moab police footed the bill, but on the 17th he had enough money to fly to Florida and back and pay for Gabby a motel room while he was gone! I wish Gabby had called her family and had someone fly to her and help her get home while Brian was gone.

If his story was true, why would he leave his beloved's body in the desert? He didn't want it to be found. He didn't care if she was eaten by animals. He took her car and went home to his family to spend the time he had left with them. If you think that makes the story believable, there is nothing I can say.. He should have at least called her parents and explained what happened. But no, his story is all lies.

By all accounts Gabby took her phone everywhere to take pictures or video so it makes me curious about the "falling in the creek being soaking wet" story. Wouldn't her phone have been inoperable? How was he able to use it later to send bogus texts to her family? And in this horrific tragic moment he claimed to have had, why would he even think to take her phone? It's all BS

A more plausible scenario is that they had a fight and he throttled her before hitting her with a rock to make it fit his narrative. It takes time to strangle someone and he had plenty of opportunity to stop what he was doing. We will never know if Gabby decided to end their relationship and he got angry. Not once did he say anything to anybody except perhaps his mother, he just cleared Gabby's bank account and drove himself home in her van. Why did his parents lawyer up immediately? Why didnt they ring the police anonymously to report a murder? Now we are left with more questions than answers. I do believe that if Red White & Bethune had not seen Gabby's van then she her body would never have been found and Brian would still be living his life. JB, you and Brian Entin have reported on this case sensitively and you were both the best sources of news on this case. I want to thank you both for that. ,

I think the reason he left Gabby's body was because he thought if he could keep it a secret long enough, animals would "take care of" her body so there wouldn't be any evidence. I don't believe what he wrote. Not for a minute. There isn't one bit of empathy. It's all about him. He was a horrible narcissist. I think he was furious that she went back into the restaurant & apologized for him after he'd gone back in several times & made a scene. And that fury escalated into murdering her.

My guess: I think it’s most likely that they were fighting and he pushed her.. she fell and badly hit her head. He didn’t mean for THAT to happen. The stuff after the traumatic head injury is all true, both her poor condition and the fact that he panicked! But he didn’t panic because she was suffering. He panicked because this was super serious, and he couldn’t get her help because she’d tell the truth.

The NY Post has an article saying that Brian Laundrie was well versed in surviving in the wild. If that is true, why would they be out in a pitch black National Park at night? Why would be in a creek at night? Why wouldn't he have thought to light the fire first? Why wouldn't he have known he had to get back to the van? If he couldn't see, how did he see to light the fire? If he was well versed in survival, why didn't he have a flashlight or flare? Why wouldn't he have had a back pack with a first aid kit? I have a thousand more questions. He murdered her, knew he was going to get busted, and lied trying to cover it up. His parents knew Gabby was dead. I have a thousand questions about that too. This is all BS!

I am from Wyoming and very familiar with that area. They were camping in a dispersed camping area outside the national parks in that area. The temperature was not freezing. It was hot and got chilly at night at that altitude, but not freezing in August. Her body was very close to the van. The creek was near the van. The story is a lie written by his mother. I think the parents had something to do with his death, I don't believe he killed himself!!! I'm a survivor of DV & a narcissist does not kill themselves!!! I think once the parents realized they couldn't get him out of his mess & couldn't get him out of the country, they went out there with him under the guise they were gonna help him hide & his dad shot him...I think they were scared they would be facing some criminal charges along with him & did it to keep from going down with him!! I think this because of a that along with the fact they led police straight to his remains the day they were found!!! I also think the mother wrote the things in that notebook or most of it after that first page maybe...also I think this because they have NEVER seemed all that upset over his death, it's as if they had already dealt with it because they had a hand in it...I just don't believe he killed himself & NEVER will!!!!

In my eyes, he left this note to save his reputation for his parents expense. He didn’t want his parents to think he was raised as a monster and he didn’t want his parents to have to deal with the BS that he created. Unfortunately, his actions show that this letter is completely Bull. The fight in Moab, the fact he left her body, used her card, pretended to be her in a text message. Anyone that loves someone, would do anything to help them survive. She wasn’t a cancer patient on her death bed asking for someone to pull the plug, she was a healthy young woman with an “injury” as he says - that would of been able to get help at the hospital if he drove her there. Her legs weren’t broken? So why not help her walk to the car. Unbelievable how selfish he is to even try to sound like a hero in his death. Narcissist.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Brian’s parents wrote this letter with or without the attorney and placed it at the scene when Brian’s parents “magically” pulled a bag with a very intact notebook out of it. I know it was a dry bag but supposedly the bag was submerged completely. Dry bags are not necessarily air tight. They could just dribble some water on it, which is what it looks like, and tada, theres a suicide note. I would like to see handwriting comparisons from Brian and his parents. Also, the “suicide note” made several statements that I feel would not be in a suicide note, trying to make the parents look better. It was worded very strangely. It looks like multiple people came up with the letter. Which I find extremely compelling now that we have some indication there are multiple potential versions of this “suicide note”. They are all shady as hell and nothing that involves them can be trusted, EVER. We are in the twilight zone at this point. It is insane. The laundries are very disturbed individuals and they raised a very disturbed and narcissistic monster that went on to take an innocent life. He murdered her with his bare hands. We need to see justice in this case. I hope you never stop reporting this case. There is so much more we do not know yet. But we are in the times of the internet and social media. Secrets only stay buried for so long.

And the two alleged other confessions. And now this letter from mommy? What other documentation might there be? How much of all this stuff have the Petito family seen? Hopefully the civil suit will go ahead, if only so the Petito's get more "secret" info out of the Laundries. Finally, I wonder what Cassie thinks of her brother and her parents by now, and if she would be willing to bear witness against them - she probably knows more than she might think.

IMO BL described how he killed Gabby. She ran from him with no shoes on. They fought. She fell in the water when the blunt force happened. She was screaming for him to stop. He probably left her laying in the water for a while. Then might have tried to carry her to the van, but he was weak. He left her there. The "spooning" is bologna. He might have made a fire so he could see to put the rocks there. He might have done it to make it appear his story made sense. Sorry, Brian, we know you now. You are not that smart. You cared about no one, but yourself. You think people believed your insanity. I think you were mad that Gabby had more followers & she was so much better than you at everything. His "story" reads like a movie script - with the camera focused 99% on him - just ONE brief sentence obliquely says that he murders Gabby, as if it took 2 seconds - no mention of how he did it - as the coroner described, looking into her eyes while he tightened his hands around her neck, for minutes, until she stopped breathing, died, and then he stands up and leaves her there on that beach. Who does NOT call 911, NOT yell for help, in an actual accidental situation??? NOT CREDIBLE that this is what actually happened.

I thought it was because he killed them moab girls that were married and maybe it had something to do with that. I’ve heard a theory that maybe gabby was already dead but idk…. The dates don’t really match with that possibility; do they?

Having personally escaped an abusive relationship, I know for a fact that the parents of the abuser will stand by their child and help in cover-ups. It does not surprise me that Brian’s parents acted this way. They raised the monster and enabled his shoddy morality and actions. They will hurt other people to protect him. They will hurt the victim and the victims family to protect their pathetic little crotch goblin. I have no sympathy for Brian’s parents and I hope they pay, and pay hard.

I like that you’re going through all of these steps and I love that your morality is coming through full force. I think again we have a situation of moral people dealing with Immoral people. The bottom line for me is the longer it took them to find her body the less chance of them proving how she was killed.

One thing from this story I could see being true is that she didn't want him to leave when she was hurt...not necessarily because the fire might go out but because she thought he wouldn't come back for her. If I was hurt in the middle of nowhere in the dark I'd be scared they'd leave and not be able to find me again. And didn't Brian threaten to take her van and leave her all alone earlier in their trip? She was terrified of him leaving.

He was threatening to do that in the Moab argument. He jumped in the van whilst they were arguing and she had to climb through the side window because he'd locked her out. They argued all the way till the Police pulled them over!!! There is nothing more terrifying than being left with no money,no clothes,no belongings and nowhere to stay...all on your own with no friends or family to fall back on and no vehicle. He knew that that terrified her...b..t.rd !!!

JB I just had a light blub go off in my head,, remember when Brian flew back to Floridia,,possibly him and gabby were talking about splitting up their relationship he just chatted briefly with his mom and she decided to write a letter to Brian that he could read on the plane back to gabby,, well no idea what she said but,, possibly he put in the van gabby found it and got angry and that’s when the fight started and he killed her !! That makes a little sense as to why how the letter got in the van and wasn’t burned,, and letter later discovered by the FBI I think the contents of that letter is really important to the petito family!!! My deepest condolences to them!! 💔🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Isnt the quick trip home when he and his dad moved Gabbys belongings into storage? Also right after Crystal and Kylen were murdered in Moab? He was only gone for 2-3 days while Gabbys stayed in the airport motel. I believe her dad ubered her a pizza to the room while she was there too. I still believe his parents pressured him to break it off with her after the Moab incident and when he came back things between them had spiraled completely out of control. Maybe she had had enough and decided she just couldn't be with him anymore and he murdered her because she was gonna leave him.

Walt said that the letter from Roberta to Brian says “ Burn after you read this”. The movie name is “ Burn after reading”. I think that is just an excuse their lawyer heard someone else mention as a possibility. Makes me so sad to see Gabby’s parents sitting there in court! No parent should have to lose their child. Or go through all of this! They lost their daughter in a horrific way! Then they have to deal with al of this other mess as well!

I have always have believed that his parents have been aware since right after it happened and given the chance in civil court Gabbys family should be able to win it now I was told that the difference between criminal and civil law is criminal is supposed to be with in a shadow of a doubt a civil is more likely or not that it happened in this case we all know it happened and to lay out what degree his parents were involved and if they were involved then what should now go fourth?? I think they are going for criminal justice as well as $

Bertolini lawyer is not necessarily to be trusted. He admitted he knew and was a long time friend of the family. To me that would be a conflict of interest for him to be the Laundry's lawyer, especially in this case. He knows it all! Of course,he was protecting Brian and his parents, but do I trust all of his actions or words? No. He was always trying to protect himself as well.

Great questions posed by JB, but let’s forget the body. He had every way to prevent this. I think the only person Brian was trying to fool with that BS, was himself. He did nothing but hurt that poor girl and her family. People need to realize that he and he alone is responsible for this. Not his parents. Not his sister. Not his attorney. Brian and Brian ONLY is the one who made this ALL happen. He is the one who put his parents in the position they are in. It all comes back to Brian. Side note. JB is such a humble, and empathetic journalist. Something that is truly rare in this day in broadcasting. Been following this case since it started. JB has covered this case with such care and heart. I hope JB has good things coming his way. Shoutout to Brian Entin too.

His parents had a choice just as Red White and Bethune did, they chose to involve themselves and began the cover up. Red White and Bethune called FBI. The parents and Bertolini had knowledge of what Brian did and chose to protect him and hinder the entire investigation which further caused Gabbys family more trauma and distress. They were initially banking on Gabby never being found but once she was found they actively set about protecting him and themselves at any cost. All they ever had to do was be honest. Their silence ultimately cost their sons life which they are responsible for also.

When the cops showed up after their fight. Brian decided to kill Gabby that day as soon as the cops began to question him. If we could turn back time and look through his childhood we would see emotional and physical abuse, along with a child that was treated with disrespect, maybe even sexual abuse. Wish the FBI gang who investigated the man who killed his 2 daughters and his wife who was pregnant with his only son. They were top notch investigators.
