Began watching WFLA and especially JB during the Gabby Petito case and do not watch any of the mainstream channels for news. I am in Tx. If there is something major going on I will watch WFLA, Sky news and BBC [ occasionally ]. Congratulations on becoming a new Dad , I bet you will be a good one.

She should pay the full amount, even if it takes her entire life. But I think she should also do community service in the field of missing people. Jail time just punishes people. Someone like Carlee could become a much better person if she learned why her crime was so gregious and extended herself to help other people, especially missing person situations.

Gabby's case was heartbreaking and even worse, was that everyone knew the Laudries had all the answers. They still will not come clean even though their son killed himself. This makes them terrible and untrustworthy people. I believe in karma, I hope they have to pay.

Do you have proof or are you just accepting the Petito's allegations as truth?
@polyscroll Жыл бұрын
@peacenow42 Brian Killed Gabby. He admitted it. His parents made no effort to help the Petito parents about the whereabouts of their daughter, even though their son drove back to Florida, ALONE, in HER van. Even if they didn't know that Brian killed Gabby at that point, THEY BLOCKED the Petito's frantic efforts to learn about the whereabouts of their daughter, who happened to be their son's fiancee. The Laundries are morally SCUM, plain and simple.

I like the way you do the news - interactive and trying to seek the truth instead of reporting everything with a slant toward any one world view. I like that you remind people that we don't have all the facts, so we need to wait b4 making full judgments. You discourage bullying. You are how news should be - accurate, empathetic, and searching for the actual truth. You admit when you are wrong and apologize. The rest of mainstream news has no moral compass and support the suppression of the truth. People need to get the news from multiple sources and listen to the independent providers and discern when a provider is a truth seeker and which are just making money or attention.

Brian even lied in his own suicide note! It comes as no surprise that his parents are heartless. If they had all just been honest and called the police as soon as Brian got home-their son would be alive right now.
@sr2291 Жыл бұрын
One of the Northport Police officers said they couldn't just arrest Brian because he was only a person of interest, not a suspect. They had no proof he had committed a crime yet. If they did arrest and charge him with a crime after 30 days they would have release him and he couldn't be charged with that crime again unless new evidence came to light. And he could sue them for false arrest. The police have to follow the laws. Rule 3.134 of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure.

I believe that the Laundries were trying to protect their son from being prosecuted because they loved him. The best that they should have done if they were not going to help was to remain silent with no comments from their attorney except "no commment" or "my clients are using their right to remain silent". They would be better off because we'd know that they loved their son more than anything else. Some families protect their children like that. Others would take the moral route and try to get their child to turn himself in and make him take personal responsibility for his actions. However, they still remain silent to others. They may still be sued for their actions, but I think they'd be in a better place if they had, and their attorney had made no comments whatsoever. I'm not excusing them, but I am telling where their hearts were. They may be unable to face the Petitos for choosing their son over the moral thing to do. Or they were advised to show no emotion by their attorney. I also hold the law enforcement officers who stopped then and then let them go. They had clear signals of possible domestic abuse, whether it was already happening or could happen. They know how this ends when nobody intervenes. They should be fired from their jobs for not acting in a way that may have separated these two instead of it resulting in a murder suicide. SHAME ON THEM!

City of Moab Utah Statement On Investigative Review of Aug. 12 Petito-Laundrie Incident "After a formal complaint was filed with the Moab City Police Department, an independent law enforcement agency has completed a thorough review of the August 12, 2021 domestic violence incident involving Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie. The independent agency’s investigative report finds that the officers who responded to the incident made several unintentional mistakes that stemmed from the fact that officers failed to cite Ms. Petito for domestic violence. The City acknowledges that this finding may raise questions, and the issue is examined extensively in the investigative report. The report recommends improvements to both the policies and the training of the Moab City Police Department. These recommendations include: providing additional training in domestic violence investigation, as well as additional legal training to ensure officers understand state laws and statutes; conducting an overall policy review; conducting a software review; and strengthening the review process for incident reports. The investigative report also finds that a statement was never obtained from the original 911 caller, and recommends that be done to make the incident report more complete. The City intends to implement the report’s recommendations. Based on the report’s findings, the City of Moab believes our officers showed kindness, respect and empathy in their handling of this incident. As the Moab City Police Department continues its daily mission to serve our community, efforts are underway to provide additional resources and tools to assist them in addressing domestic violence incidents. Plans are in place to add a trained domestic violence specialist to oversee incidents investigated by Moab officers. We also will implement added and ongoing training and testing to ensure that the officers understand policies and procedures. The City of Moab sends our sincere condolences to the Petito family. Our hearts go out to them as they continue to deal with the tragic loss of their daughter." From Combined Statement and Investigative Report - Petito-Laundrie Incident - Moab Utah Police Website

Really, she pled not guilty? Pretty easy to determine it was a lie. The cost of the search had to be a lot more than $18,000. Not much for the enormity of redirecting all of law enforcement and wasting valuable resources. Whatever the law finds reasonable is okay with me. Community service wouldn't hurt the girl.

Carlee had no mental illness as her x-boyfriend and her friends would have known that and her rich parents would have had her in treatment BEFORE this incident happened & she was never on any depression or mental illness medications. She was just a spoiled brat who wanted her ex boyfriend to think she was dead to find out if he cried & was devastated & wanted her back forever & to feel guilty for breakup. She never thought her scam would be figured out being a hoax which is scary that she believes she's a good believable liar. Women do many crazy things to get back an ex boyfriend that they are madly in love with & want them forever as their husband & father to their children. They want attention from ex'es.

@Stephaniemickle Жыл бұрын
No, she shouldn’t have. Those cops should’ve prosecuted BRIAN. She admitted in the body cam that he hit her, and they did nothing but send this sweet, broken spirited, abused girl into an area she didn’t know, to stay alone for one night separated from her abuser, when all she had was her van. So are we gonna stop victim blaming a girl that’s no longer alive to defend herself and who CLEARLY WASNT THE ABUSER. I mean look where she was found, and then this coward runs across the country, leaves her body in a deserted area, and then runs into the woods and offs himself rather than face any accountability for taking her precious life. It’s disgusting you think she should’ve been charged, when it’s so very obviously DV and his hands and she’s afraid of him.
