Yeah, about that, while kicking Effie from the group that way was too harsh, think about it:Effie had always been a egoistical and moody diva, at the point where she had no problem in basically saying that her friend Deena, who was timid and insecure, wasn't talented enough to sing lead (while Deena was in the same room, may I add) and she never told anybody that the reason she was becoming even more unprofessional was because of her pregnancy, so they kind of had all the right to want her out of the group, at least until she ''cleaned her act''.

this scene gives me chills every time. not only her miraculous vocal performance, but the passion she conveyed in this scene, acting wise. I can just see the critics who judged this during the academy awards with their mouths half open, in awe.. and you can also see just how touching this scene must have been to Jennifer Hudson. she probably wasn't even thinking of an Oscar, she genuinely seemed like she channeled into Effie and felt 100% what she sang.
@mcmlxvi8 жыл бұрын
If you think that what you saw was made in one single take, then you're a fool. The sound and footage were made separately, it probably took 2 weeks in post production and over 60 takes to edit it all together, it's a movie not a play.

Everybody doesn't act like uncivilized wild banshees when they argue. Some people use their words. What would she have gotten out of hitting Deena? Either she was gone knock Deena out and get kicked out of the group or Deena could have surprised everybody and beat the breaks off of her but either way, she still would have been kicked out of the group.

Arimas Memphis Deena wasn’t gone beat nothing💀 and she still got kicked out the group anyways. Might as well go out with a bang😂
@arimasmemphis40614 жыл бұрын
@@camryngaines9 I've wondered about that since the first time I saw this movie. I don't think that they actually hooked up until after Effie left. I think Deena was an innocent party in everything and was just manipulated by Curtis just like the rest of them because even though Curtis was looking at Deena and showing her favoritism, we never saw Deena return the gesture and it's not Deena's fault that Curtis had some kinda attraction towards her or what he thought he could make of her.

Lela Anderson I understand what your saying, us as black people shouldn’t do that to other black people, cause in the end all of those women are amazing.
