Yes! Please do more videos like this one! Everybody is reading the same books that are just published and that can get pretty boring.

yeah love the long videos love hearing you speak and talk about books without spoiling them in the process but don't give up the dream of doing this I love your channel so much been here since 2016 so you have very good content so just always keep up the long videos and keep pushing toward your dream. Thank you so much

I always like your vlogs, but today's vlog really kicked it up a notch with that spooky music you added. The spooky music really made me shiver in all the best ways. It's overcast and rainy here on the east coast, I don't typically like thrillers or horror books, but you made me want to read Kill Creek with your excited comments about the book. I am even thinking about giving The Troop a read, despite my aversion for gross things. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Your videos are my favorite! I have read so many books that I normally wouldn't have picked up just based on your recommendations and how excited you get about books you love. Also I watched Bly and I was so confused at the same episode you were! Lol I was like Hey, we are thinking alike. But the next episodes made it so much clearer and I ended up loving it. I actually went back and watched Hill House as I had never watched it. I loved it too. I never even read horror or many thrillers until I subscribed to your videos. So, thanks for being you 💛. Congrats on the 50k also! How freaking exciting. Adding Kill Creek to my never ending TBR 😆.

Agree with Amanda. I haven't read The Ruins, but I've watched the movie numerous times because it's so darn good-and I've been watching horror movies for 40 years. It's very atmospheric and filled with shock moments. You can rent or purchase it on KZbin.

I highly recommend reading The Ruins while listening to the audiobook. Patrick Wilson narrates it amazingly. Edit: Also, in the kindle version the writing is way more sectioned and not dense as the physical-edition seems to be.

Hi Gabby, I recently read this year . It was hard to read it without any chapters. This was the first time I read a book without chapters. Just keep reading it, it gets so good and does get graphic. I have been trying to find The Ruins, the movie, but no luck. I just took breaks and used a bookmark where I stopped each time. Some characters go through a lot of pain and discomfort. I really got into it. Did you see movie? I love getting your book recommendations. I read some from Riley Sager and am on almost done with Home Before Dark and Lock Every Door! Loved them. I also got recommended the three books for young adult off of Kindle. You discussed them, too. They were by Natasha Preston. Some freaked me out what torture those girls went through. Love your channel! Erin

I liked “The Devil Crept” in (4 stars) and tried to read NOS4R2 but gave up 1/2 way. Now I need to read “Brother” and “Kill Creek” as you made it sound pretty good. Deckled edges look neat but makes it harder to flip to the next page while reading. Definitely a design over function situation.

I read Brother five years ago and still to this day it is probably one of the most dark, sick, and twisted books I have ever read... but I loved it! As soon as I started watching your video and saw you were going to read this one I was so hype to watch! I couldn't wait to see your reaction! So happy you got into that one first. I still have to read The Ruins. It has been sitting on my bookshelf for years. I just felt like I wasn't going to enjoy it... and now I am sure! It will probably continue to sit. Might have to I haul it. As always, love your videos!

New to your channel, really enjoying watching some of these older vlogs! I read both The Troop and The Ruins earlier this year, and I rated them both 4 stars. I slightly preferred The Ruins, oddly enough because of the writing style! Different strokes for different folks, it shows! When I'm in the mood for serious reading I really love the heavy, descriptive, world-building writing. Reminds me of how I feel about adult fantasy vs. ya fantasy. I tend to read more ya fantasy because it's 'easier' but the ones that are more likely to really really stick with me are the adult ones!

Brother is one of my all time favs and Kill Creek was excellent. One thing I found about the Ruins was that it was like a Boulder rolling down a hill, started slow and then built momentum where the second half was like the Troop and was great. It is worth finishing so if you ever get the urge to pick up where you left off…..

I love your dog! So cute! I'm sad because I was recommended Joe Hill so much, I bought three of his books. I bought HSB and two of his anthologies. I've read Full Throttle and mostly enjoyed it but there were some stories where I was swimming through molasses. He seems not so much a horror writer as a "Twilight Zone", Creepshow story-type of writer. I'm on the same page with you on the Troop, so I trust your horror opinions. I'm going to take The Ruins off my lists now. XD I'm going to add Brother to my lists!
