What he doesn't credit for is how well he kept his composer under fire. 6.5 seconds left... "No prob. I got this!" Skies are the limit for this phenomenal young talent. God bless and hope you continue to do well.

This is what this sport does for people who decide to compete in it. Wrestling makes a person mature in many ways. Gable is not just a man in a man's body but he is mentally as well. All wrestling competitors become truly mature on their approach to life from wrestling. And it is why many of us respect all of the wrestlers from all the countries because of what it takes mentally and physically to do so. I enjoyed watching all matches whether it was Russian, Iranian, Dagestan (amazing wrestlers!) and all other countries that represented in this olympics.

It's the speed that amazes me, the quickness he gets to the leg and how he always finishes in under 5 seconds. He never gets in and says screw it and hopes for a stalemate, always a fast finish with fantastic footwork. I mean he really does wrestle similarly to Jason nolf, those quick feet spin behinds to win the gold are something Taylor or Snyder could never do. God I hope he doesn't leave the world scene, it's just not possible to game plan away his agility. I want to see gable and spencer Lee just dominate the worlds for the next 8 years

Crazy he’s at the Olympics just won and can’t even see his highlight lmao! I thought he was still in when he tossed him out of bounds. Shoulda counted woulda techd him but this made him even more a legend. He never works on top and catches breath very smart and very smart letting him up basically because any point one of a second more he would have lost. This reminded me of when a young Doug Schwab upset and broke returning national champ Guerrero in Iowa! He was down big late snapped and let him up like three times to win and broke him bad Iowa style. Carver went nuts and it’s still one of my favorite matches ever. When Geno didn’t want to get up in the last seconds I knew he was gonna break and lose. That’s the same thing Guerrero did. I thought the seeding was interesting I put money on Gable for gold. The Turk was the returning Olympic champ and beat Geno recently so I thought he was gonna be GAbles best comp honestly.

I love that in another interview right after the match he looked in the camera and more or less said, with his big smile, I guess that old adage of wrestle to the whistle still holds true. I would imagine that match, because of the ending, will be shown for years to come in every high school and college wrestling room if not almost any other sport. Our high school coach had his saying, if you let the refs call the match then you deserve to lose. We didn't have criteria in 66-70 So CA high school and if you tied the refs decided who would win.

I still think the Taylor match was the best. BUT Gable definitely made the Heavyweight class interesting to watch. All in all my thought is Taylor beat the "better" opponent, mostly due to the fact that there is more agility and bigger talent pool at the lighter weight class...But hats off to Gable a victory that will always be remembered. Good luck to the young man and his future.....I hope he comes back for one more Olympic cycle.

Gable could be the best wrestler ever from the U.S., but his bank account won’t be as good. It’s likely that he gives it up in order to wrestle in WWE, where he could be an international star. David Taylor just won a gold medal and doesn’t have 100k followers on Twitter. On the other hand, the Rock is worth hundreds of millions.
