Gabriel nailed it. Unfortunately, some haters judged Gabriel as just a guy who can whistle. These people don't understand all the complexity and beauty in what he sings. AGT is an entertainment contest, not a talent contest. It's sad to see someone like him out of the finals.

He is not showing off in this video but quite often on his channel he is and that is probably with the intent to silence his critics. I've seen his videos where he is singing live in the car to prove he is singing live because probably trolls say he isn't. Here his whistle tones were done tastefully and in the class of Mariah Carey done judiciously and just enough in the right places. That is not always the case with some of his KZbin videos though. As a Christian he knows the principle of giving not from yourself but through yourself. When a skill is exercised to showcase a talent in a giving way it enriches the audience and you don't feel robbed in the sense you feel you are being demanded or expected by the skill demonstrated to be in awe. Here, the skill of flageolet singing was executed in a giving, classy and tasteful manner not out of place and not overkilling the song.

He gives God the glory for the angelic voice he was given. This young man made me cry with that voice. I've followed him was before AGT, one tone and I was hooked on the gift he has. I know trolls doubt his gift, but never think he shows out. Just my pov sincerely Greg from Tennessee

In his participation on AGT he sang two songs. We don't know why but the second song was cut from the edition. After singing, the judges asked him how he sang so well and he replied: To God all honor and glory. The translator who accompanied him on the show said this, but infortunally they removed this part from the show.

You show off your skills but if you show off the skill at the wrong time it can be bad and if you show off the same skill too often it can be gimmicky or overdone. It is about making good choices. Doing something at the right time and keep your best trick to a minimal or it loses its value being no longer precious cause then it becomes common and people get used to it. Mariah doesn't do whistle tone in every song.

Jennifer, Gabriel never sings a song the same way everytme he sings it. He is a master at creativity and he allows the song to breathe and the moments he creates with anything he does is stunning!!! He is a vocal savant, without some of the other issues that might come with being a savant. His creativity is ina genius level vocally. The talent just oozes out of this guy!!! Great reaction. ❤

Yes, you did end by saying his voice is “something beautiful”. 😁 Gabriel is in his own category! You’re right, he packs so much into a performance, but it seems so effortless that the listener doesn’t get the impression he’s trying too hard. He may decide exactly how he will sing a song and stick to that plan, but it feels like he is letting it go where it wants to, if that makes sense. Incredible. ❤

I recently learned AGT does not use Autotune nor Pitch-Perfect. American Idol & the Voice do use these tools. They (his dad’s church) says, he can be used when tuning their piano. I find that amazing, growing up I had a friend that played by ear. Diann was able to hear any song once & play the song. 10 years later she still had every song she heard in memory & was able to play them. She was not able to read sheet music. A gift from Heaven, I took piano lessons for 7 years. Today I cannot play chopsticks today. Some people are gifted, but that does not mean, Gabriel does take time for discernment & presents a song that has his impression. I love reactions from Vocal Coaches & Educated Singers.
