Just listened to Christina and he is definately singing it in the same key. Amazing. BTW, Gabriel was on the Jennifer Hudson show because JH found out he was in town and she is a big fan of GH, as he is of her, and she asked him to come on and sing, which he did. Gabriel does 1 takes & uses the audio for production adding reverb & occasionally a slight delay for affect. You might enjoy 1 of his car videos where he records the song on his phone. I like “I want to know what love is”originally by a Rock band Foreigner, and then Mariah Carey did a cover of the song. Gabriel did 2 covers: One is in the car & the other is at Gabriel’s home. There are different ending between his home version where Gabriel hits a D7, and the car that has an extended version of Whistle Notes. Gabriel was heckled by some people, saying he was using auto tune or pitch perfect. Some accused him of being fake & said his tone was atrocious. There is an idiot around every corner. I apologize if my words were inappropriate. Let me know & I will try to improve my linguistic adjectives. * Gabriel is back in the States, working with a Record Label. I’ve enjoyed his music for the last 3 or 4 years now and never tire listening to him. Truly, a joy. I enjoyed your analysis as I have an even greater appreciation for all the things he does. I can’t cook but I like good food. Likewise I can’t sing but I certainly enjoy listening to someone who can. Gabriel is my favorite over Ronstadt, Sandy Patty, Toni Tennille, even David Phelps. A phenomenon. Also, I appreciate how you said you hope he attains whatever degree of success he wants, which may or may not be what his current listeners want. Thanks for the analysis. As a layman it is pretty amazing to learn all these concepts that go into singing. If you are after more of his riffing, you should consider his Mariah Carey covers, which to me personally, is where he truly shines. Especially his Mariah covers of Lead The Way and Vision of Love. If you are curious to to see how high he can go, you can consider his rendition of I Wanna Know What Love Is. Other great performances of his include And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going (which he actually performed as part of his AGT audition but they did not show it), O Holy Night, Never Enough and Goodness of God.

Great reaction, Peter! Wonderful to see you discovering Gabriel Hernrique - he is the most skilled vocal artist I have heard in my life, after decades of listening to, studying, and teaching music. For the most out of this world riffs, check out his cover of, "Feeling Good." Astounding! He is, at the core, A Brazilian gospel singer, and has left a legacy already, including gospel songs in his native Portuguese language...and he isn't even 30 years old yet. He's been performing for 20 years. Right now, he is in LA, thankfully unencumbered by the ridiculous contracts required by, "reality" tv.
