This is an absolute masterwork of the French cello/piano 'genre',perhaps a bit late when considering Debussy's, Fauré's or even Vierne's (a forgotten absolute masterwork), but who cares? Pierné moves here the more subtle of our inner feelings.and listen to the harmonies, look at how they are written? Actually, this language is more 'advanced' that it can seem when hearing it for the fisrt time. .
