Yes, Arantxa was always there since then until the year 2000 except in 1990 (when she was defeated by Paz in 2nd round). I have been a big Arantxa's fan since 1989 QF in this big tournament, when I met her beating Novotna for a double 6/2. I was ten then. Before that match I had never watched a women tennis match by TV and I found tennis a boring sport and didn't even know its rules.

@@JorgeJRO Arantxa Sanchez still made it in 2000 (semifinals). It was 2001 when she lost early. But I know what you are saying, and Jorge, it was a beautiful comment. Arantxa was one of the women in the modern game to create interest in people in women's tennis. She showed another side to the game, and brought forward the modern clay court style and game.

@@alexsdb9712 Thank you for your comment too, Alex. Yes, Arantxa, Gabriela, Steffi, Monica... mainly these four great players, the best ones then, marked an era in women's tennis. I've never enjoyed watching tennis with such passion and excitement as back in those early nineties.
