You should add some of the headaches associated with living there in the winter; how to be stocked & prepared for road closures, vehicle necessities, being prepared for snow shoveling or blowing depending in where your living, ensuring pipes dont freeze, etc..

Love Lake Tahoe. I find the shoreline very similar to the shoreline around Lake Huron and Lake Superior. The Midwest doesn't have the big mountains of Tahoe but it does have humidity and way lower prices. Look up Wetmore Landing in Marquette, Lion's Head in Ontario, Lake Superior Provincial Park, and Pictured Rocks. Hundreds of miles of beautiful rocky shoreline with turquoise water that rivals Tahoe - without the pollution, crowds, and wildfires.

Most of the work was outdoors in the spring and summer.. then transition to working inside in the late fall and winter months. Recommend staying away from the gambling in the casinos. The shows and food were about it for me.. The summer concert jam behind Harvey's Casino was very cool.. Of course the lake and all the great fishing, camping was very nice. My grandparents retired to Donner & Truckee so I explored the area a lot growing up, & have always wanted to move there. But the 2 major reasons I haven’t are lack of affordable places to rent & honestly, as a single guy in his 30s who wants to settle down, I feel if I moved there I wouldn’t meet anyone single to settle down with & build a life, bcuz a lot of ppl there are already settled married etc with retirement savings and investment / real estate $ to live off of & build from, not to mention a lot of ppl there are older too. Am I wrong? Great video thanks. I shot you a follow on Instagram as well!

Lake Tahoe is probably or if not one of the most beautiful lake of the world but one major con of lake tahoe is it gets crowded in the summer time and it's understandable because tourists love it here but the problem is, it's hard to find parking especially in the Nevada east side of lake tahoe and you can't just slow down to find an open parking on the side of the road because the cars behind you be tailing you and that's how road rage start

Expect lines at Tahoe. Everywhere. Twain wasn't wrong when describing this place as the jewel of the world. If you think you are the only one who knows... no. It is as crowded as an opening at Disneyland. South shore, North shore, Kings Beach, Incline Village, and everything around... Emerald Bay included. Tahoe is a jewel, about which every tourist knows already. But what do you know about jobs? 200% of the national price is paid for service workers. Did you know that? The place is so crowded that they don't just have lines to the register... you have to stand in line to move down a grocery aisle. How do people not know this?

So odd to read this comment. All of my family members and I had excellent experiences when we relocated permanently after visiting for decades. My kids found very welcoming atmospheres at the local schools (north shore Tahoe City area) as did I and the other adults in dealing with the community segments we chose to explore. I think much has to do with one’s own attitude and openness when arriving at a new location. And of course every community has resident local crumiguns suspicious and unfriendly to anyone unfamiliar no matter how friendly! Overall we found Tahoe to be the one of the most welcoming, unpretentious areas we have become a part of and we love being here!

Amen 🙏 I'm 55 years old and have seen the place evolve over the years. And you are absolutely correct. It's been hijacked and pilfered by the top 10% of wealth in this country. That seldom includes a lot of foreign investment, which, by the way, could care less about preservation. People say I'm nuts when I mention these facts and ask for proof to back up my statements. Well, how about the privatization of some of the best beaches for starters. Or the fact that most of those middle-class folks who are providing services as a means of employment don't live there. I'm old enough to remember a time when Tahoe wasn't so commercial, and there was a real legitimate family community .and there wasn't any iron fencing at the Stateline beach because the motels didn't own it. Nowadays, those crappy poorly built houses you're talking about near Reagan and El Dorado Beach get bought for well over asking by rich folks who tare down the existing and build brand new luxury getaways. And because of this taho has become a place where you can't relax. Don't park your car and hang out too long or you might get a revenue ticket. Over exploited, and a general lack of hospitality is what you'll experience these days. I still enjoy visiting, but only for a few hours. The place was a much better experience back in the 70s and 80's.
