Actually she is the silver medalist in AA. It's pretty obvious simone won. This floor score was actually fairly scored surprisingly.

I loved how she stepped onto the floor before starting her routine!! She looked confident and sassy! I noticed that all of the American gymnasts "present" themselves now before beginning their routine when they did not do this in the the past. I really like it and think it makes each gymnast look more confident before their routine even begins!

wow...idk what she did, but she got her "floatiness" back for thus final. she also seemed to fly higher on bars... is it just me? lol. and I am so so glad she's smiling!! she proved what she set out to prove (as she has said "repeatedly" lol) her comeback is a serious one....now let's wait for the upgrades! will she ever outscore Simone? probably not since Simone has more upgrades comjng too....but she makes it a competition!!

+mjamitche5 and once she upgrades simone and everyone should watch out . she has said she has upgrades on all 4 events simone showed she is infact human that beam was scary had she fallen it would have been even closer. nothing is certin and simone is on top but she will have to earn that olympic gold and gabby is the olympic queen .

I agree I have never seen Gabby actually dance to the music, the few minor tweaks to the music since nationals sound SO MUCH BETTER, the crowd love it, her tumbling was super high.... Chile with upgrade Simone better watch out..... I know everyone wants to see Simone get 4 titles in a row, but I personally want to see back to back Olympic champion..... both girls are really fighting for the title of greatest gymnast ever!!!!!

+dahighbar LOL let's not get ahead of ourselves, guys....be realistic. Simone had a bad day and still beat Gabby by over a point. If Simone hadn't done terribly on BB and FX, she would've won by close to (if not more than) two points. Gabby is amazing, but even with her 2012 routines, she couldn't touch Simone right now. Simone will be upgrading for Rio, too....at this point, the only person who can beat Simone is Simone. As for the title of "greatest gymnast ever"...only one of these girls has the resume to make that argument...you know, the one with 10 world championship gold medals (most ever in history?)? Gabby is one of my all-time favorites, but her name isn't even in that conversation. Even in London, she got lucky...had Komova vaulted in the AA the way she had in Quals and TFs, this conversation wouldn't even be a conversation. The gold was Komova's to lose and she lost. The same will be the situation with Simone, and hopes and dreams won't change that.

I'm about sick of people always trying to discredit Gabby....Always a "gift" or she was "lucky" when she was the clear winner of the 2012 squad. Rewind back to 2012....Why NO mention of Gabby outscoring everyone of her teammates during qualifications and even tying Maroney's vault score during qualifications? Had she not went out of bounds she would have beaten BOTH Weiber and Aly by over 2 points and would have been the top qualifyer....Same thing happened during team finals how she carried the team to team gold outscoring her teammates on each apparatus with the exception of Maroney ' s vault. It was not Komova's to lose as she was never in the lead to begin with....Gabby was leading on damn near every rotation...Only thing Komova had going for her was her Bars routine....Gabby took her biggest punch and managed to wow the crowd and judges with her floor routine...Komova simply did not have enough to ever take the lead from Gabby. She was clearly the best gymnast that day and brought it when it mattered the most......Enough with the BS excuses. Gabby along with Simone both share a place in the history books....And that's all that needs to be said here.

I was never a big fan of Gabby in her first Olympic run - her gymnastics just didn't appeal to me - but she came back like a totally different gymnast this quad. Her AA performance at this Worlds was straight-up FIRE. I absolutely loved it. She had such a maturity and grace in her gymnastics that I hadn't seen before. I'm *really* curious to see how she looks at Classics this year!

i want to see her bring back her 1.5 layout stepout + triple twist. that'll bump her d-score up by 0.3 (+0.2 CV, +0.1 in difficulty by replacing D skill with E)

+Tim Roberts If she did the same passes otherwise (Full in, double pike, double tuck) it'd be an additional 0.2 in CV, but if she did the triple full in place of the double pike, it'd be 0.3 more. I'd say it's much easier to put the triple full with the 1.5 step out.

Amazing performance! The silver medal was well-deserved, and connecting that wolf jump to the full in was a good choice! How did she stay in time with the music while the crowd was clapping so much though? They did it almost throughout the entire routine, which must have been deafening! And they weren't even in time with the music the whole time!

I tried to count her D score and kept getting it wrong ... Can someone tell me where the mistake is? Double L-turn : D Arabian + stag : E + 0.1 CV Double tuck full in + wolf : E + 0.1 CV Switch ring : C Split leap 1 1/2 : D Memmel : D Double pike : D Ring leap 1/1 : D Double tuck : D DV : - Acro : 2E + 2D = 1.8 - Dance : 4D = 1.6 DV = 3.4 CV = 0.2 CR = 2.5 D-score total = 6.1 But the real score is 6.0 hmmm

I think her floor routines are simple to what she's capable of really doing. I think that's the reason why her scores have been lower than when they were a few years ago, because you would think she would do more advanced routines.

+Tree Hugger simone has more power (impressive to the judges) and difficulty. she consistently outscores gabby b/c of this and likely will continue to.

+MaZe Unicorn I'm not talking about difficulty buddy, I'm very aware that Simone overtakes Gabby by almost a point in that area. I'm talking about execution, which I don't believe Simone does better. But obviously Simone deserved a higher overall score.

And the Russians were no better in Rio- in fact they looked awful with their dancing. Incomplete turns, falling out of those turns, sloppy tumbling- no surprise they had not one athlete in floor finals in those Olympics. Dance is interpretive and individual- it’s not ballet!!

nothing is set in stone simone could have a bad AA final she is human its easier to climb to the top rather then being chased . simone chances a very good but one thing I learned from london is that you can't assume anything
