I can sympathize with Gabriel Union’s peace after going to Africa because my first visit to Ghana was so carefree I spent two months there in Takoradi upon my last few weeks I had to get my mind and spirit right to visit Cape Coast Castle entering the slave dungeons and going through the doors of no return walking out to nothing but sea/ocean 😢so and on the other side of the door was the door of return for us the descendent of our ancestors ❤that was so emotional and mind blowing for me. Although I never visited that river but will make it my next journey thanks for sharing that because I wasn’t aware of it.

I visited a plantation years ago and was excited to go, had good music on, and was in a great mood. No soon as I left my vehicle, the smile and joy left my face and I fell to my knees and just cried, gut wrenching tears. I never even got to look at anything. The presence so strong that I couldn't deny and the emotions of fear, sadness, bewilderment, hysteria and more, came with it. Its no wonder Gabriel said her husband was screaming because I'm sure he felt it too. It is true that no one from that time is alive but there is no way that we feel things as deeply as we do unless we have a direct connectivity to the spirits of our ancestors. Whoopi is a gem because she tried to explain that this is new for Blacks that descended from slaves and she is right because its the same reason why adopted kids go looking for biological parents. #wheredidicomefrom
