Zelda might not have been a warrior in this game, but she's still a badass for keeping Ganon imprisoned with her power for 100 years. I like that she and Link play different roles in the games. Being a strong or powerful character isn't always about physical ability
@Marco-Tusenartist Жыл бұрын
Agree, and also Nintendo makes games with a badass female warrior since forever, Samus. So I hope Link be the warrior of Hyrule forever
@turtleduckcrossing463 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with this! There is more to combating evil than being a proficient weapons wielder. Of course it's great to have Zelda's character vary throughout the franchise, but I love how Breath of the Wild Zelda is fairly renowned in Hyrule for her helpful research of Sheikah tech and her studies of the Divine Beasts, as King Dorephan himself mentions to Link when he enters Zora's Domain. Zelda's research seems like it was pretty instrumental in helping the Zora understand Vah Ruta's control mechanisms so they could determine how to best neutralize the threat. Which is honestly amazing! Love how Zelda fights back in a way that showcases her talents 😊

Thank you! I was so caught off guard when she said that haha Zelda is such a bad ass in her OWN way! Also in OOT we never see Zelda in actual combat, except holding Ganon back for Link to destroy him like she does in this game. And she is also saved by Link in an even more dramatic way in OOT, so I am confused haha And that memory in the bazaar is one of my favorites because Link is a huge hunk of man and Zelda truly begins to fall for him in that moment IMO.
@Miggy_Farrr Жыл бұрын
It rubbed me so wrong when she said that, that I came to the comments to say something. I'm so glad to see that you've already said what I was thinking so eloquently 😂 Zelda has always been a badass - just not one who swings a sword around. Zelda and Link are both epic in their own way; it's because they're different that their strengths compliment each other and they can defeat Ganon through the centuries. I mean, come on, Zelda has been holding him in that castle for A HUNDRED HECKIN YEARS! That's an insane amount of power and strength!

That memory of link and zelda running away is so heartbreaking... Theyre kids tasked with a 10,000 year legacy who were just trying their best to live up to them against an evil that never died and never had to figure out how to use how powers. Its so sad that everyone doubted them and they even doubted themselves... It all boils down to "If i had more time, things would be so different"

No gabs that's not it, Zelda is down because in her mind Link embodies the Ideal Hero, while she wasn't able to connect to her power until a little too late. The moment Zelda learns that Link has much the same worries she has and thus is mute by the pressure he feels she is completely fine with relying on him and starts to fall in love. She is just frustrated that unlike him she isn't making any progress and can't help her friends other then with her studies.

First off, don’t worry about the island taking all your stuff! It will give it back after the challenge. (Edit: if my impatient ass had waited I’d have seen you already figured this out 😂) Second, you will get one last memory after getting all the ones in your compendium so if you do only get that castle memory in your final trip to the castle, don’t forget you can use your medallion OR explore the castle’s lower levels. There is a shrine down there but it is hidden. Lastly, on the subject of Zelda, just my personal perspective: I feel like this game was more exploring the reality of a character like BotW!Zelda who has so much expectation and so many legendary stories about other Zelda incarnations to live up to. Warriors and sages like those of Ocarina and 10,000 years ago looming over her. Meanwhile, she is just a little science nerd who needs a kid not much older than her to look out for her. She’s supposed to be able to at least innately connect with the Goddess and even that is out of her reach. I personally like how it sets her apart from other Zeldas and really shows that each incarnation is their own person rather than just a copy-paste of the same individual, fully formed from day one.

Just for future cases the thunder helm makes you immune to lightning strikes. The rubber armor just lowers the damage.
@JeromeLAllierDecary Жыл бұрын
The rubber set, upgraded to level 2, also makes you unshockable
@Nat_the_Chicken Жыл бұрын
Shock resistance is actually an extremely obscure mechanic which works in an extremely confusing way. Unlike any other effect, level 3 shock resistance actually scales straight up to 100% damage reduction, rendering you completely immune to all electricity except lightning. Not only do you not take damage, you don't even drop your weapon. So the full rubber set, or two rubber pieces + topaz earrings, allow you to saunter up to electric Keese no problem. (I don't know how it affects the damage lightning does.) You don't even need the set bonus to become "unshockable." So what does the "unshockable" bonus do? It's actually the same as the Thunder Helm's "lightning guard," just protecting you from lightning in addition to the existing shock immunity.

Yeah it's pretty funny that they just get deleted. Just don't do it if you want to farm an enemy's drops or get their weapons. (Also, it doesn't work on minibosses like Hinoxes.) Here's another thing to try: next time you see a Guardian Stalker that's pretending to be dead (they usually have some of the legs still on and show up yellow on Stasis+), try using Stasis+ on it from afar without waking it up. Something pretty funny usually happens when it wears off.

The three symbols engraved in the Triforce marking are the symbols for Din (the echoing circles), Nayru (the one that looks like the Zora stone), and Farore (the windy lines). Those symbols were first used in either Wind Waker or the Oracle duet. Whichever came first. :) At least Din and Farore's symbols. That's why you weren't seeing the Gerudo or Goron symbols. Oh! And reading all the diaries add so much background to the story. Not just Zelda's, but there's also the champions' and their successors', and the king's. I'm loving this series so much!! I'm having so much fun watching you play through the game. I do have some tips, though! This comment contains info for: shrine loot, dog loot, and hinoxes! Tip for the chests in shrines: if you aren't sure if youve got them all, if you go to the map and there's a little treasure chest next to the shrine name, you've gotten them all! As for the dogs, not all dogs lead you somewhere. Every stable and Tarrey Town have a dog that leads you to treasure, but there's a specific dog for each one. Some Hinox tips: if you are sneaky enough, you can climb into his hand and he'll take you into his belly when he goes to scratch and you can get whatever he has on his necklace without killing him! Also, you can kill reds in one shot and blues nearly in one shot if you sneak up in them with a SPEAR in hand and hold down the attack button until you activate urbosa's fury, then release and they're dead before they stand up! You can also go a third click and get more damage in for blues and blacks.

From the older games, Zelda is often represented with the force of wisdom out of the triforce...To which I feel like BOTW captured that really well...I mean she didn't get kidnapped this time XD...Instead, she used her power to give Link a fighting chance...As the saying goes, live to fight another day, Zelda trapped Ganon inside the castle until Link could fully heal and aid her in the battle against Ganon...The memory 1:14:00 made me sob, I feel like I can relate to Zelda being given so much responsibility but yet couldn't awaken her said destiny, she was a late bloomer and often times I feel like the whole world around me is going so fast while I just can't seem to catch up, like I'm just a failure...But in the end, when it mattered most she did overcome her lowest point and succeeded in awakening her powers, that's very heroic to me :D Excited for more episodes

Obviously you can't permanently ride them like a horse, but it does present an attack/damage opportunity. You can also apparently shoot them in the face prior to them breathing flame, perhaps with a bomb arrow. Special thanks to Hyrule Dude for providing the reference video (looked up 'mounting lynels botw'). I only saw the one video but he seems to have some good in-game tips. Also remember you have Urbosa's Fury now. Urbosa can do added damage, esp helpful against strong opponents. I swear there must be a supply chain shortage, or else news has gotten out of their popularity. My usual Dollar General stores haven't had Goobers in stock; this time I picked up a generic substitute, still only a buck and still chocolate covered peanuts. No movie candy box though, maybe an added reason I favor the actual Goobers brand. 😊 GG Gab

I wanted to offer a few tips you may not be aware of that I find super helpful: 1. When viewing the map press X to see where you’ve been 2. You can throw a bomb at the sand seals to make them dizzy; makes catching them so easy! 3. When fighting a Molduga find a rock to stand on. The Molduga won’t sense your vibrations when moving. Then use your circular bomb and throw it on the sand. The Molduga will chase it and eventually erupt under it eating the bomb. Then you can detonate to knock it out for a little bit. Also, bomb arrows and Urbosa’s fury are super effective against them.

The Coliseum is an interesting place. Most enemies and weapons scale up using a hidden point system based on how many things you've killed, but the level of the Coliseum Lynel, his weapon, and the weapons of the enemies on the surrounding tiers all scale with the number of Divine Beasts completed. Since you're visiting after finishing all four, the Lynel is silver (the highest level in normal mode) and uses a flameblade instead of a normal Lynel weapon, and the other enemies carry a full suite of elemental blades, making it a great place to stock up on those. But visiting at the beginning of the game, the Lynel would be red-maned, using a basic Lynel sword and shield, and I believe the enemies would carry basic gear from the Traveler's set. Also, there's definitely something else there... but I'm not going to explain it! Tough luck.

8:45 I just realized - Zelda could have been asking Link to see if the calamity was close/the sealing powers were needed soon. Since she was unable to use her sacred power she might have theorized sealing powers are only available when absolutely necessary and checked with Link to see. If he couldn’t hear the sword that would make it a stronger theory - and likely give her some much needed hope regarding her own powers.

2:07:06 at the doggy, you'd feed them, and they would back up to reposition themselves to eat the food, but you'd take it away on them, just leave it out for them to reposition themselves.

Evelien, shield parries are super useful, but lynels can still be much easier with timed jumps, like you said, so you can do a flurry rush. Lynels give you huge windows of time to execute them, particularly if you backflip when he does that three-swing combo, or when he's charging you, if you do a side-hop when he's about to reach you. If you do these (and also maybe have a few Urbosa's Fury handy), lynels can actually be pretty easy; like you could beat them in like 40 seconds.

Thank you Gab I love this series. Also Link is 17 in this game but depending on the games his age ranges from 7-18

You did really great in this vid, Gab. Worth it to get the DLC item at the end. In order I did: Plateau area (drop to a quarter of a heart on this part) please be sneaky in this area, Gerudo area, Lanaryu area, Tabantha area, Eldin area, and back to Resurrection shrine. End Boss is three phases (fool on second part immediately with a banana) Make sure to still get all 120 original shines and get the final one in the castle (please use your book guide map for help) I hope this helps 👍👍

about the doggos, you can feed them a ton of fruit or meat, and to pet them you just get close to them. when the little pink heart cloud shows up it means you pet them or their affection is increasing due to the food. once their affection is at max, they will perk up and start walking somewhere nearby where you can find treasure.

Terry Town is one of the best places to buy arrows so when you’re really in need of them go there, you can normally buy everything you need, go to your house sleep and then go back and they should be stocked again on arrows

Hey Gab! Related to fighting a Lynel. Here’s some tricks: two handed weapons are not the best to kill them. What you can do is actually use a normal one handed weapon or you can switch up the weapon when you mount the lynel. You can use the Hylian Shield or the Ancient Shield for a better coverage and please, don’t stop using your shield. Parry a Lynel is so easy when you get the timing or known their attacks! Hope this can help you more! 🥰🤍

1:10:00 Soo yeah. If you kill a Lynel with an ancient arrow, it just gets rid of it. You dont get the loot from it that way (loot you need to upgrade the barbarian armor set). So if you want its loot, you have to kill it legitimately (ie the hard way).

The way you were meant to find the memory in the forest was by talking to Pikango at Wetland Stable. Most of them are easy enough to find without his help, but not that one... The only other major clue to its location, aside from the general appearance of the forest once you're in it, is that the pictures appear in chronological order, putting that one right after the easy-to-find Lanayru Promenade memory in which Ganon awakens. That might clue you in to look somewhere between there and the castle, on a path Link and Zelda would have taken either to the castle to try to fight him, or away from the castle in defeat.

You can make fire by attacking red chuchus, spicy peppers, flint and wood (you accidentally did this on the island but didn’t take it to heart). You didn’t need to defeat the Hinox when you floated down over it. If you landed without waking it you could steal all of his necklace stuff.

2 tips to help you: 1. Lynels. The key to beat them is to parry (what you learned in one of the test of strenght). You create a beat with him and you parry. I can now beat a lynel easy just because of that, no matter how he is strong. 2. You can stop you turning momentum attack (when you charge your sword and then turn). So you dont use your Urbosa attack or your weapon for nothing. You just have to press B. Hope it helps!

There’s a neat quest that you got where you search for Zelda’s white horse and you get to keep it when you register and if I’m not mistaken you can put special armor on the horse too

Thank you for the birthday upload Goobs Zelda is my absolute favorite. also quick tip: if you don't want to climb to get the rushrooms you can actually shoot them down with an arrow. This is much easier if you use an ancient bow from Robbie because it shoots in an absolute straight line

You can take chu chu jelly from your inventory, hold them, drop them and then strike them with any element. You don't need to hunt a new chuchu each time :D

Hey Gab, you did good for first time fighting the Lynel. Think you probably figured it out or someone already mentioned, the ancient arrows are basically insta kill against non-guardian, non-boss enemies, they disintegrate and you don't get the loot. Also you get the chance to mount the Lynel while he is stunned and you being close at its side, you get a small window of time to get couple of hits and it does not use up your weapon's durability in that time. You can stun it by shooting an arrow to the face. Note that if you use stasis for that, it won't count during that time, you need to follow up with another one after it. Looking forward to next episode as usual ^^

hey gab, just letting u know that you don't have to do the whole board horse - take horse - board horse mechanic every time you're doing something with horses.... If your horse is out somewhere and you're in a stable away from it if you simply click Take Horse it will automatically bring the horse to you.... so you don't have to do board horse -> take horse . Hope that helps x)

The best solution for when you're around the Tar Pits is supplied as gently and softly as you can because it takes you longer to sink into the tar and you can build up on the ice blocks and make little stairs to climb up on different levels I hope I'm making sense😅.
