Hi Gab, thank you so much for playing The Painscreek Killings! Reflecting back when we released TPK as our first game, we didn't know anything about marketing nor how to promote the game. It resulted in only 50 people buying TPK in the first week of release. We were so devastated at that time after 5 years of development. But because of so many players and streamers support, we could survive and are able to develop our 2nd game, Scene Investigators now. Thank you so much for picking up our title for your stream!

1:32:02 I completely agree, I am adopted and I was the 6th out of 7 kids my mom had. All of my half siblings were taken away by CPS due to her drug use. She ended up going to jail when she was 4 months pregnant with me because she was found with drugs in her system and on her. She didn’t get out until I was 3 months old so she had to start planning my adoption since my father wasn’t in the picture. It’s not always the parents fault either. I do wish my mom had not done drugs at the time but I also do realize it was an addiction she had since she was a teenager and it’s very hard to quit. She also most likely wouldn’t have been able to take care of me even if I wasn’t adopted. I actually thank her for putting me up for adoption because I have an amazing 72 year old mom (I’m 16, the age difference gets me everytime and I love hearing her stories of back in the day 😁) who allows me to see her. My biological mom did get clean when I was around 5 and was able to see me without supervision after about a year of being clean. I have contact with most of my half siblings. I’m very thankful for my biological mom for allowing me to have a chance at a good life. Not every child that is adopted has had a good experience and I’m very thankful and grateful that I am in a good home.

It's a game you can only play once, and that's it. It's not a scene investigator, it's set in space, or rather, in a singular small solar system, and the mystery it presents is all across it and maybe even beyond. It's my favorite game of all time, and I know that's a hell of a bombastic statement, but I mean it. The music, the art, the presentation, the story, the characters, the environments, the... Everything. I love this game. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Often, when I get stuck on these sorts of games, instead of reading a guide or trying to search and somehow avoid spoilers, I will simply find a blind playthrough and watch for a while until the person I'm watching gives me an idea for how to progress. In the case of Painscreek, I didn't know you could get to the hospital, so I played for quite a while, doing as much as I could, before poking around KZbin to find a playthrough to watch to get some ideas. (I'll come back and watch the rest once I'm caught up!) This is a long and convoluted way of telling you that _I played this game for six hours and until 30 minutes into this video, I had no idea there was a ghost._ :') I have just been collecting clues totally oblivious, going, "Weird how the music in this game is occaisionally just spooky for no reason!" Running around Painscreek playing the idiot who gets killed in a horror movie because they just don't believe there's anything spooky going on.

Then you find One key, attached to it a number. There are some thirty chests, and each one has a different key for a different chest. You go from chest to chest to chest, tirelessly searching the tunnels and Eventually opening that final chest for a Quite worth while weapon. Just, in this game, you keep getting a key for a new place with a key to a new place with a new key for a new place, with a great mystery, and I LOVE IT!

You read a diary from Charles earlier where he talked about the affair yes, but in the same diary he mentioned Scott and how he knows Trisha fancied him and how Charles was okay with it. So interesting theory and I think it's likely but Charles didn't recognize Scott or forgot he put a son in adoption so idk I'm confused on that. The entry is at 1:31:29 ish Edit: Charles having an affair and a possible illegitimate child makes a lot of sense but the diary entry earlier about Charles liking Scott is throwing me for a loop.
