Except in my AU America got an eye injury during the civil war and was “cursed” by CSA so that when he has too much light exposure his eyes turn black and he starts hallucinating. That’s why he wears sunglasses. My America might also have that whole “acts happy but actually has too many problems” bit, but I hope it doesn’t come across as cringy. The fact is that everyone has angst and America is no different, it’s not like he’s any angstier than anyone else. It’s just that he never talks about because he’s self-absorbed and wants to be seen as powerful. Sorry for info dumping in your comment section.
