a person who makes the Gacha series here 😭 it's just crazy that people nowadays have the attention span of a dog. my regular vid has 50k, compared to the recent short I uploaded with 600k, really says that most of the Gacha community transferred in shorts lol problem is, regular vids are the main reason we’re getting PAID. 100k views can get you to about $200 (not entirely accurate). i posted a short with 1MIL, i got about a $100💀

When i saw the graphic in the discord server it broke my heart to know, that the series are slowly dying...I think this is the reason why I'm stopping making trends..or at least, reduce them considerably (like 1 short and 2 videos about my Au and series) as i've become TIRED people steal my video and claim as theirs. Still, i have to finish a lot of series that I've been procrastinating, and I'm hoping I can find the time, with work, driving school and the gym. I'm making gacha series and I'm working over it for 1 YEAR, as it's very hard write a story all alone. And it scares me it might gonna flop, as I really love my stories, my Alternate Universe and my work. My advise all those Gacha Tubers they want make a serie fantasy, a love story or a spreading info. DO IT, don't be afraid, it doesn't matter if small or big, dream big, do the right research, don't care about the hate, but do it.

few reasons I would say why Gacha mini-movies are falling off is the lack of originality/repetitive content i donno why I still see sold to Mafia Alpha and Badboy mini-movies (I'd rather prefer Hated Child to come back over those). so unfortunately good/original writing just doesn't hit the algorithm which heavily demotivates us. the thing with mini-movies not hitting it big (vs shorts) is that it is a waste of days/weeks/sometimes months of hard work, story writing, screenshots (or even animating and voice-acting in uncommon cases). which is heavily unprofitable. so following shorts/trends is just a smarter move, unfortunately. on the audience side of things ofc the audience who used to watch mini-movie content back in the day would have all grown up and left. any who would have stayed or any new potential viewers just won't have a reason to watch mini-movies anymore cuz the repetitive content (alpha, mafia etc) has butchered mini-movie stuff so much not many are bothered to check it out there is also that tik tok attention span theory too so.... its just not looking good for movie/series content 😭😭

I noticed the lack of care in storytelling Me and my sister watched a mini movie, it was the usual unoriginal idea but it had so much potential It was rushed, everything was and it made no sense whatsoever Long form videos can also make you some money so they do make mini movies pretty long but rush it for the views Like it felt like no care was put into it and it was just a cash grab I remember there was also another gachatuber outed for using Ai to write their scripts for them, and before I found out I notice something was off with most of their stories

This makes me so sad. I want to make Gacha stories, it’s a lot of work but I know there’s so much potential. All the Gacha mini movies are usually romance with very similar plots, not many other genres have been explored and they don’t usually do well if they aren’t romance unfortunately. I want to change that but I’m worried that if I spend the months it will take to make a mini movie (Since I want to make smooth movements which I’m not that great at, lighting, good scripts and editing and I usually don’t have motivation lol) that no one will end up watching it or at least it won’t do well at all and I spent all that time for nothing. I’m so glad someone FINALLY brought this up! As someone who just joined the VOICE ACTING part of Gacha it is so sad. Let me speak for this smaller community within Gacha because this needs to be said. Just earlier today, I ran into a fully voice acted, fully frame by frame animating episode to a Gacha series. How many views did it have? 1.5k. That is absolutely ridiculous! Oh yes, and one that was fully tweened and voice acted, only 50k. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! Listen, Gacha short tubers are fine, many are talented, but one tweened trend does not and will never amount to the hard work it takes to write a script, get voice actors, animators, etc. No single short can ever amount to it. I’m so done with creative people with potential going completely unnoticed. It is unfair. (I’m not saying shorts aren’t showing people with potential, I’m just stating that most of the time they’re just following baseless trends with no meaning or impact, I hardly see originality in this community anymore.)

Alright hear me out (everyone can feel free to discuss or let out ur opinions since I just came back a few days ago and I need some time to rewind what's going on in Gacha Community) Reason and How the Shorts came Out: In my opinion (I just came back to the Gacha community recently), I think it is because people currently don't have the patience to watch long videos and prefer a short form that highlights the most specific things you want to show. Not only that, ever since COVID-19 came into our world, most entertainment apps, like the KZbin algorithm, have changed and made long videos less valuable; instead, shorts have become more worthy and famous. As time passed, everybody started to create shorts instead of making long videos because shorts are only a few seconds long and can earn many views, likes, subscribers, fame, and money. Not only that, KZbin shorts can be considered a form of marketing and even business because it is inspired by TikTok. I, however, hope that the gacha community can gradually rewind to show more long videos like mini-movies, music videos, etc. since the gacha community is born from these videos. Slowly, more amazing and creative Gachatubers come into the picture. It's not all about despising the gacha shorts; I feel encouraged. What I mean is, if it is really fully ONLY shorts on your KZbin channel, you need to do some videos as well. You can't earn anything, and KZbin will change some of your settings. So I suggested balancing the quality and quantity between the videos and shorts or having more videos than shorts. I also hope that more small Gachatubers emerge and showcase their talents to everyone. New creators need to have a platform where they can display their creativity and grow within the community. (Yes,I also want to grow and making more videos to the gacha community because my goal is CHANGE the democratic of Gacha Community).Many a little makes a mickle. I've been making a series for the past like 9 months, one singular KZbin short of mine (which, by the way, is getting way more hate then other versions of the same trend) has like, 200k views next to Episode 1's 22k views. So, I've been posting on youtube for 3 years now and when I started I only did mini movies, music videos and long formed trends. Then shorts became popular and I started to make them. Now I became a short creator and I barely post long videos but the truth is I enjoy making them more than shorts. Its sad how my shorts get 50k-1m views and my long videos gets like 100.

as someone who does fandom content but still trying to figure it out, these numbers scare me 😭i really love fandom videos and gacha series so i hope these numbers don't discourage any creators to change formats solely based on the numbers. these numbers are still pretty big and relevant, so continue the great work, don't worry about numbers because there will always be people out there that appreciate what you do!

Honestly it just breaks my heart. The amount of time and effort all wasted makes me extremely unmotivated to continue. I love writing and making stories but it's not exactly worth it if it's not going to get the attention that it deserves.

Yeah as a gacha creator I literally have only been able to grow my channel by doing shorts it’s pretty sad I use to do non shorts :( it’s pretty fucking sad that I can’t get anything I have a better chance getting smth from shorts it’s pretty sad smh

I don't care of the rising gacha shorts. I am planning of a gacha series that has a bit of education logs in it, and as i see this people getting successful in shorts is just common sense because people use shorts more. I tried myself and i got over 10k views on two videos due to using popular and trending videos. I am shock still. I can't say I'm proud, it's just sad and unfair for people who do hard work on longer videos that has stories to videos that has less stories and short videos. Well this is new normal. Waut until the very educated and most awarded to be gachatuber leaves.

This is partially why I never post shorts, mainly because I feel like it’s not as “right” (as in it feels more like I make lots of shorts to post all at once to get 5000000 views!). I always really thought that shorts are kinda like a cheap way to get famous (of y’all get what I’m saying). I think people nowadays are running out of creativity and new ideas so they just be like “oh look new short trend to get me some views since I don’t know what else to do”, which I don’t think is a great mentality to have ;-;

On my main channel Arikiranix, I posted an hour gcmm and got only 700 views. On shorts, one of my videos got 300k views. This ariart acc is less than 2 months old and already has almost 800 subscribers, but my Arikiranix account is over a year old and only has 585 subs. I wish it was the opposite, as I put 5 hours of work each day in my gcmm 😅

The title literally describes my feelings, Im so tired of seeing how shorts channels skyrocket. I enjoy and am used to regular video form but nobody wants to watch those kinda videos even if it’s under a minute. People are just doom scrolling 24/7 and cant be bothered to do anything else.

ever since gacha club gmms and gmvs havent been thriving as much, during the pandemic we mostly make little skits or shartposts similar to the content being made in tiktok at that time, so for me its no surprise that yt shorts took over eventually. also to add to this whenever i post a short video of about 30 seconds or so, youtube makes it a short and to this day i still have no idea how to stop it. Its almost like its forcing the short-form content to be made

I find that there is less appreciation for gacha animators lately. We put more emphasis on small shorts which generate millions of views rather than large productions which take time but with better quality. Above all, we must not forget them !

I feel like everyone uses KZbin shorts and TikTok more because of COVID. We were so bored and had nothing to do so we just need up needing good entertainment. And I also feel like people make KZbin shorts/ TikToks now is because it's less work. It's quicker and faster, which means more content and more views.

As someone who’s been posting long formatted gacha story content since 2021, I feel rlly burned out that I worked so hard for a vid just for it to barely make 100 views, meanwhile gacha shorttubers can work on an hr or less on a short and get 100k-1M views. I’m literally running 2 gacha series with full on plots and I’m BARELY even getting numbers. Honestly, I had the urge to take a break from gacha. However, I have a lot of original ideas that I need to get organized immediately before I go on and make it happen. Reading the comments here makes me wanna work really hard on my future mini movies and series. And no, I'm not gonna try to let the amount of views bring me down, because I know that I have the potential and talent to become a good gachatuber. As a very small gachatuber, I’ve always wanted to make a glmm but I could never have the motivation due to it will probably get around 50 views because people prefer shorts over regular videos. Shorts ruined most of Gacha. I usually get around 50 views for every regular video I make (when it’s a voice over, it’s more the 100 views) and whenever I post a short, most of the time it will get around 100 views for even more. 😭 I’m still going to stick with regular yt and not yt shorts. What caught my attention is that most people nowadays would watch series from shorts instead. Im not too good at explaining but what I mean is, most people want a part 2 whenever a short meme gets posted. This short eventually becomes a series that is created from 10-15 shorts. If stuff like these were made in normal youtube videos, it wouldn't attract too many people. So most people would watch anything as long as it seems short.

My issue is that short views don’t exactly translate into an audience either-someone who can have 10k views average on a short will probably only get 20-30 views on a video. And people don’t always watch longer things like glmms or gacha series-

Here’s my advice to you, add a ton of tags to your video! Maybe you can reach outside of this community! Add tags that may not fully relate to Gacha like maybe.. Fantasy for example or school life or something like that
