Thanks Wave - the more I listen the more I enjoy - I think this EP is a masterpiece of creativity. I struggled a little with Lin-lin-lan to begin with, just a bit too out there for me, but I'm settled on it now, and I agree compositionally it may be the best, or certainly most interesting track. For groove it has to be Let it beat - overall GS sound and possibly my favourite bridge is BakuBaku, and then Odoriodore is currently my favourite - love Angie's vocals in the chorus so much. Apparently at their show the other day in Sapporo they played a new instrumental called "Speed" and there was a new Tomo-zo lead song too - no idea if these will be future album tracks or more to add to the long list of GS songs played live with no official release (somewhere around 20 now from the last 3 years)...

Isn't SPEED one of Oreo's favorite idol groups? I wonder there's any connection 😄

“Ace” is an amazingly crazy and creative EP. It challenges me every time I listen to it. Thanks for your reaction Wave (what about a drum cover of one of the songs? 😏) And thank you Home Gnome 🙏🏻

The artwork for ACE was commissioned by Angie directly to collage artist Q-TA. I think the artwork, which is an accumulation of small fragments woven into a single form, represents the image of the song beautifully.

"What the heck just happened?" is a good description of this album 😄 and it definitely needs couple of listens, although few of the songs I fell in love with right away (Let It Beat and Strobe Shooter). GS once again unapologetically doing their own thing 🙂

*Whew!* is an apt reaction after listening to each of these songs. I fully get what yuri was referring to in the GS clip that recently came out, where she talked about how mentally and physically taxing it was to perform the songs from Ace and W, given how intricate the drums and bass parts are. And that's on top of what they've composed over the last 5 years, plus all of GS's music before that. Seriously, what aspect of their output hasn't seen exponential development and improvement with the release of the last two albums?

W was already easily my favourite Gacharic Spin album. I think they raised the bar further with Ace. It's funny, I can't deny it's too much to take in from just one listen, but I instantly liked every song on Ace, which hasn't always been the way with them.

Without looking at the lyrics (translations of them) you're missing a (big) dimension (and a lot of comprehension) about GS songs ;)
