Just when you think you have Gacharic Spin halfway sorted into a category, they come around the corner with something completely different and will impress you all over again. :) You said it, the way they write their songs, incorporating so many influences, ideas and their talent is phenomenal. And in all these years, they haven't held back in any of that. Perhaps this is also their biggest obstacle to attracting new listeners or reaching a wider audience, as the masses today are not able to process so much in one song. But for those who can, GS has been more than just a breath of fresh air for so many years. And to be fair, they seem to have a loyal and relatively large following, at least in Japan. 👍🏻 If you plan to return to GS at some point, I think going back in time to their beginnings would be a good idea to see how they evolved. I just recommend 2 at random. :) ---> 1. Broken Lover (MV/PV*) / Video ID: "wD7mcIxfw-E" (*In Japan, music videos are also referred to as promo videos) Started as a 4 piece with Koga (ba), Hana (dr) and Tomo-Zo (gt.) alongside their original vocalist Arrmy, who left the band in 2012 (she passed away a few years later for unknown reasons) ---> 2. Hunting Summer (Live 7th Anniv. 2016) / Video ID: "CtG8zHzeDc8" Perhaps one of their funniest/craziest performances that shows what you can expect live. :) Then already with Oreo Reona (keys, vocals) and the two stage performers Mai and Nene. The second video is unfortunately not available on the GS channel, but on the channel of 'Gacharic Spin Fan', which offers a lot of GS gigs and also allowed me to 'relive' the history of this band, as I myself only jumped on the bandwagon about 2-3 years ago. :) _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ ※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ etc.

No band, even Babymetal, can compete with Gacharic Spin live. They're just fantastic, pure and crystal joy.

Possibly the most under appreciated band anywhere. They are amazing! Saw them live this year and want them to come back to the US soon.

Was waiting for this one... Was my introduction to them.. For oldies like us it crosss so many periods in our music upbringing that it is just a "WHAT"! song.. So much tallent again from More brilliant Japanese ladies.. Please take a look at the song Timashi live.. Twin drum sets in perfect sinc ? How is that even possible? You have to see it to believe it. Only time I have ever seen twin drums was in the Glitter band in the 70. If you want to see something very special check out the drummer Hana doing a cover of "Smells like teen spirit" during Covid only using household utensils. They also have a side project called Dolls box.. Yes there is more... Prepared to be amazed.. Best wishes again from France

They are awesome. King Crimson toured with 3 drummers with full kits. They were in front of the band. Otherwise you're right. Never see that.

Actually Hana was on drums for this video as Yuri was on maternity when this video was shot. I saw them in Houston this year and they are as good as any other Japanese band you can think of.

Yay, first! Thank you for this. They are incredible, yes! If you are able to sit still through this song, you're just not human. Try "I Wish I" next, it's totally different from this and yet equally excellent!

Although they have a ton of great songs, Mindset has a place of it's own. The stars aligned for this one and it doesn't lose it's appeal after hundreds of listens. Cheers :)

Where to go from here? I think it's time to look where Gacharic Spin came from as a (self-described) "entertainment band" before the "break" and addition of Angie and Yuri. My suggestion would be to look at the freshly uploaded "Jyoushiki Destroyer" from the tour final 2016, featuring Hana, some choreography and some Tomo-Zo guitar action, and "Ganbaba Dancer" from the same performance, featuring Oreo and some surprise on the keyboard (I think that's suited for a double reation feature, because the songs are not so complex); followed up by an introduction of Yuri and Angie with "Next Stage" (live) and "Tamashii" from the 2019 tour final at Nakano Sunplaza (first season with then 17yo Angie & Yuri), with a display, why Koga (and the rest of it) where right to decide "to go with the energy of the youth" and take Angie on board, and some special features as well. Also two songs suitable for a double reaction (in setlist order). Of course somewhere down the road there needs to be a "Hunting Summer" series, and some Tomo-Zo songs, and some "ballady"/acoustic stuff... ;)

History video of Gacharic Spin. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGPNgoF6oMmBprcsi=39hfDdZtl9S21mMS About Angelina 1/3: She has roots in Spain, the Philippines, and Japan, which is where her stage name comes from. When she was in her second year of high school, leader F Chopper Koga saw her playing the guitar and giving a talk at a school festival, and she encouraged her to audition, and as a result, she joined the band. . She currently has her own radio program twice a week and also appears as a guest on other programs on a daily basis. She frequently appears on TV shows and is probably better known than Lovebites in Japan.

If a list is ever made of the actual 20 best songs of 2021 worldwide, Mindset would deserve a place on that list. I absolutely love this song. I want to know how this song was composed. I am guessing that it was probably written jointly by the core four. My recommendation for the next Gacharic Spin song would be their live performance of I Wish I - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJmppJhrj6efgtE As has been mentioned, the band was founded by Koga and Hana. I would love to see Koga and Misa of Band-Maid square off against one another. In my opinion, they are the best female bassists in the world right now (Fami of Lovebites might eventually surpass both of them). Even more than Koga, Hana is the one that impresses me the most. She is also very good on bass, as well as drums and guitar. She has a beautiful voice and can also throw out some harsh vocals. She is also one of the main songwriters of the band. She is the Dave Grohl of Japan.

Regarding how Mindset was composed: The basic music idea was from Tomo-Zo, the lyrics are mostly by Koga (although the theme is more befitting Angie, so she might have tweaked it a bit). The middle prog-part was also from Tomo-Zo, but got some polishing by Hana. The way it's sung was all Angie, after she got free rein by Hana, who told her to sing it the way she wanted to. Hope that helps a bit - Cheers :)
