I love how much better he is live. o_o This is too rare a trait. Gackt is actually BETTER live, imo. Sounds less robotic than the recordings, a warmer sound.

The music is playback, but his lead vocal is live. You can hear him struggling to match the backing vocals at times. In any case, this is one of my favorite songs that he ever did and it's nice to hear a live vocal even if it isn't "perfect".

indeed. that's how gackt did/does(? i stopped paying attention to gackt some odd years ago) it.. and it's how a lot of musicians do it in japan. i'm not saying they all sing live.. i don't know exactly how it works, but i seem to recall from my weeaboo years noticing a lot of J-rock and J-pop stars singing live, by the fact that you can easily tell by listening.. But that's one thing I like about Gackt. He's actually pretty decent.. Some of those jpop singers sing way off key; ppl still listen.
