The guitar you were admiring is from Cathode. From what I understand, they're a guitar company in India that only makes custom guitars. That one is a 7-string. If you want to see at least one of their instruments, you can check out Jee Veerey or Machi Bhasad.

If you check out their song Dana Dan turn on Closed Captions. It's the only song of there's that doesn't have hard encoded subtitles.

Don't know if you've listened to Imminence before, but they are awesome! They're a metalcore band from Sweden, and the singer plays the violin while singing and screaming. Heaven Shall Burn is epic!

Late to respond, but While the guitar in the video is a Cathode, Karran has said that he often records with a Ormsby... but the Cathode is more photogenic so he uses it in the videos. On tour, he often uses a Variax becase a) he can replace it easily if its stolen, and b) all the 'tone' is in the programming he does in the Line 6 pre/amp setup... if it's all stolen, he can just DL his setup from a computer at home and replace the guitar/laptop... everything goes straight to FOH/PA so he does not have to drag gear around on international tour. Its a very similar tactic to that used by a lot of European metal bands when on tour. (aside from Empuu's feedback cab, I don't think Nightwish has had amps on stage since 2008 or so, maybe earlier... everything into Kemper/Protools for NW, iirc)...plus, you can code-in the cues/sync for lights/pyro/backing-displays from ProTools, so, why not? ... ok... 680 volts on a hot-biased EL34 plate, that's why...but the chug is still quite convincing! I enjoyed the reaction. I need to listen to your band (just saw it in the recent releases)

Enjoyed your reaction & commentary. Dana Dan (Turn on CC) is their hardest song so far & a must. Yaad is a bit more of a ballad if you want to hear more range, but it can be an emotional listen. Aaj is like their anthem song & Jee Veerey can really pick you up on a rough day. Always stay for messages after the song. Totally wholesome 😊 & their documentary is great! Hope to see you enjoying more Bloodywood soon 😁

FYI, that starting commentary is from a movie which says" here's blood of a hindu, here's blood of a muslim, damn you! If the creator didn't differentiate than who the hell are you to do so?" That dialogue is from a Bollywood movie name "Krantiveer" (rebel hero).

Nice reaction. Amazing band. Do check out more of their songs. Endurant, Aaj, Dana Dan and more. Oh and in an interview with Karan(the guitars, flute, production, composition) he said in the studio he records with Ormsby, and in the videos, he uses cathode guitar and in live he uses Shuriken Variax! They are still growing and he said this is the best and the most they could afford.

Just a heads up, when you get to Dana Dan, you’ll need to turn on CC. I’ve heard that people wanted to be able to toggle off the lyrics & just enjoy the views after Aaj, and also that because of the subject matter the algorithm gets upset, so not sure which. Oh, and when you get to Yaad, you’ll want tissues
@jeannineh90807 ай бұрын
Oh, and as for the mix, they’re 100% indie self produced. Karan, the guitarist handles most of the engineering. Same on the videos. They have a mini documentary up about their first ever tour, and they talk about the early days, and guerilla filming.

I know maybe it’s not your type of music but I would love for you to cover something really heavy like morbid angel, cannibal corpse, deicide, some kinda death metal band or black metal would be cool, maybe freezing moon by mayhem.

Speaking of folk instruments in... well, not pop but really an early-styled punk... do you know the Irish legend The Pogues and recently passed away Shane McGowan? If not, give a try to "If I should Fall from Grace with God" (live version is best). You'll be in awe.
