This is one of the cheaper+lower quality AELs on the market. The unit uses resistors and condensors as opposed to a transformer coil to provide direct current to the battery, which is a dangerous practice, and is most likely a Chinese made. I live in Thailand and all AELs uses transformer coil to charge the battery, also most newer units are equipped with programmable weekly self discharge run to help prolong the battery life, as well as an infrared remote to immediately test the unit without having to climb the ladder to where its hung.

Interesting battery life info with LED

The off function is actually pretty useful. I wouldn't want the light continuously on when I'm not around the area where the light is. That way I can conserve the battery, which is especially handy if power shortage will go on for a couple of hours/days. :)

+James Elij San Andres Yep you're completely right. After I edited the video I thought the exact same thing lol
@Ulalayumyum9 жыл бұрын
+Gadget Addict that said. they should create a wired switch so we can turn on and off the light without having to reach up for the light when its installed. haha. :) very informative vids, btw! keep them coming!

i just bought one of the same brand and been using it for a month now. i really liked it over other brands since we are situated somewhere here in the south where brown-outs is already a part of our daily lives. thanks for the demo sir. my apprehension is where to look and buy for the battery replacements in case the original battery loses its capacity to recharge. anyway, perhaps i can buy them in big department malls in cebu or cdo. i've seen likewise your video of the mod switch and thinking of putting it myself. again thank you very musc for the very informative post. God bless you man.

these emergency lights wouldn't be exactly UL listed for use in a public business. That explains why theres a plug rather than a couple of wires
@tricky.pixels9 жыл бұрын
Very useful light and I agree, something we could consider for the home aswell as business. What gorgeous knife did you use to pry open the lens?
@GadgetAddict9 жыл бұрын
+Tricky Pixels I'm glad you liked the knife :) The flick spring is a little tough so it might not be a perfect everyday knife but I do find it pretty useful. It's just a generic black knife from I bought from Greenhills for around 300 peso.
@ironmatic18 жыл бұрын
In a business: 1: They are not a "we could consider", they're required by code. 2: In a business, you would not use something like this, it would have to be a proper one with pigtail wires.

I suspect I know the reason they don't include the screws. They don't know what kind of wall you have and that would determine which kind of screw is needed.
@GadgetAddict9 жыл бұрын
+Bill Brehm I guess. But other manufactures include screws and rawl plugs / wall plugs. So wood/concrete is covered. It's the same with NXLED ceiling lights, they don't include any screws and I'd imagine most of the time people are going to screw them into wood.

can i ask some advice about my 120-volt kitchenaid mixer which i bought a year ago from a balikbayan friend but haven't use it since because our electricy here in the phils. is 220 volts. i was advised to buy a power transformer however i got plenty of suggestions fro sales clerks on what appropriate transformer i should use. the unit i understand has a 450-watt unit. is it safe to buy and use a 500-watt transformer? thank you sir.
