Canon R5 Mark II: my impressions as a Canon R3 USER

These are my impressions after a week of using the Canon R5 Mark II,

How did you find the AF of the RF 50 f/1.2 on the R5 Mark II? Serioulsy considering the 50 f/1.2 but I keep reading reports of the AF not being that great...a little slow etc. Guess I need to rent it and try for myself.

The RF 50 1.2 is extremely accurate on my R3 and R5 ii as well, it’s pretty snappy as well considering other lenses in the category like the RF 85 1.2 or older primes It’s not lightning fast as the 135 1.8 RF or 70-200 2.8 RF Regardless I’ve never had any issues with it It’s one of my absolute favorites nowadays.

Same here, no focus issues at all on any RF L lens.. damn near have all of them.. 15-35, 35 vcm, 50 1.2, 85 1.2, 135 1.8, and 100-500 … r5ii focuses even faster than r3 and the rest.

@@DanAllouche Thanks for the replay Dan, I appreciate it. I love the rendering of RF 50 f/1.2, and it sounds like the perceived AF 'slowness' isn't really an issue on bodies with latest generation AF systems.

Viewfinder on new R5 is so much better than on R6mkii that i cant believe it, so i can only imagine how good is it on R3!

Yes definitely much nicer to look at than the R6II! Give the R3 a shot it’s hard to go back to anything else

Hello Dan thanks for your great content just please make as fast as possible best camera setting for canon r3 for video graphers and photographers and explains all all details and buttons and everything because all other videos it’s old on KZbin and not updated and not have great explanation plus maybe you make another video about tips and tricks in R3 and you can do it as course long videos and each video one hour or more but it can help us to master the R3 ❤️❤️❤️ I hope you do it so so soon 🔜

@@gavthane you are right I know that but don’t be surprised after make videos with iPhone and GoPro my first camera was R3 😁 don’t ask me how or why? 😎 but I done it and I got it and I started already film with it but actually I miss a lot of stuff inside the camera and can’t figure out a lot of things and when I started to search here and there I was really disappointed 😔 so hopefully that Dan can do it and show us all details specially for best setting to make videos and after that images ❤️ thanks a lot

Hi, I like the option of using an extremely high capacity and fast card plus I enjoy having regular SD cards as backup for pictures. When traveling you don’t always want to Have a cfexpress reader so I judo plug the sd straight to my MacBook

Battery capacity is on par with LP-E6NH. P can yield charge faster.

Yes I’ve checked it’s same capacity but can provide more power for longer, so increased battery life for stills and in fact video

Bro is paying attention of a millisecond lag 🤯 But now seriously, great review I didn’t know that canon can go this far with their cameras with 45 megapixel sensor, putting Nikon and Sony to eat their dust cuz they might be the sleepiest on the bench but when they want they have the ability to knock every camera company with a single swing!

I don’t find the r5ii’s af laggy at all. I traded in my r3 for it.. it’s basically an r3 with more MP, and smaller body.

It’s not a laggy camera at all, just when you use both you notice that there’s shutter delay just a minor delay but I still notice it, for example all cameras have that even a Sony A7R5 its just the flagships that are free of that

@@DanAllouche I don’t agree.. I’ve had the r3 shot with it since the 2nd week it dropped. I don’t notice any lag with the r5ii.. what I do notice is that for the first time in history I’ll shoot a burst and 95% of the time, every shot is in focus. My r3 couldn’t do that as fast as it was.. totally get your point, I just don’t agree. It’s in my mind the perfect camera.. tons of resolution, tons of speed, great video.. files look beautiful. There was a magic about the r3’s photos that’s not here, but it has its own special sauce. Love this camera!
