Marshall Major V: Why I Love It

I had the Major IV for around 3 years until I lost them while travelling a few months ago. They were the best headphones I've ever had. The faux leather had only just started to flake. Will definitely be getting these. Great review!

Tip for those who have trouble with comfort, try putting them over the box when not using them, it helped loosen my major 3 and made it much easier to wear

Rocking the Major IV for almost a year now and the battery life was really crazy. Thumbs for Marshall for this new model. I won't probably upgrade to the Major V anytime soon as my Major IV is still rock solid. Marshall is really a great brand! Kudos! Thanks Josh for this review!

Yeah you don't need the V if you have the IV. But yeah the battery life is insane. It didn't even dip while I used it all day. And it's so comfortable.

@@gadgetmatch Hey, amazing review! I currently am looking into buying the headphones, but I am not sure if I should get the Major IV or the V. From what I've seen, the difference isn't significant, but in terms of price, the IV are selling for 35 euros cheaper. Do you think it is worth the extra money and for the long run?

I got the Major IV recently, here's my toughts (had them about a week): I recently got the Major IVs as they were £65 instead of £130 on Amazon. Was tempted to get these, but they were £117, and couldn't justify it seeing as they seem so similar. Gotta say, they are great, with the main drawback for me being the fact they aren't compatible with the app. The ear cups are easily removable, and can be switched out with different ones. I got some memory foam cups for them and waiting on them. At first, they can cause your ears to ache a bit, but you get used to it. However, if you don't, you can change them to softer cups (like me, but they haven't arrived yet). Not only are the cups easily replaceable, but the band across the top is, too, and is cheap to replace. So, if the cups or band get damaged due to heavy usage over time, you can fix them up! I think it's a great feature. The sound quality is honestly amazingly surprising, especially for on-ear phones. They're better than most over-ear phones. The binaural audio sounds great too, especially when they're set up properly using an equaliser or something. The bass also delivers, hard! I've gone through many earphones and headphones over the years, and I have to say, these are my favourite so far. Like this video says, the battery life is honestly crazy, and I have the IVs, which are 80 hours, so the Vs with 100 hours should last 20% longer. There's nothing to dislike about them imo, their lightweight, flexible and very mobile design makes them amazing; much less cumbersome than usual headphones, but not easy to lose like earphones. Also, another detail that isn't mentioned in this video is that you can connect them to two devices at the same time (like to your PC and tablet), so you can switch seamlessly if you pause one and start the other. Furthermore, bluetooth isn't affected when two connections are up (had headphones that have done that). For headphones I've had a fair few, but found that I liked Anker. Fir the money, they're great, but the ANC has issues (for the Q35s), and the ear cups wear out fast. Having used these, I'm tempted to get the Marshall Monitor III, but damn, they're expensive as hell.

@@Zacharia0714 I don't feel any latency issues, since I'm also just a regular user for KZbin Music from my iPad and it's really amazing. Just charged once from 3 months ago and still have 75% battery now, insane!

I think I was just attuned to my previous headphones in a way that made me feel like something was up. A week later, I don't notice it, but at first, I was confused, as I couldn't tell if it was about 0.3 seconds behind or not Also, I had such a hard time choosing colour, I got the black ones, but may end up getting brown if I get the Major V (I got the Major IV, as the offer was really good).

I got thr Accentum and it was a huge disappointment. It kept on disconnecting while in use and i keep on hearing static noise from time to time. Ended up returning.

They are yes, but I just got the Major IVs, and lemme tell you, they're fantastic. I got them for £65 instead of £130 on Amazon (roughly $80 instead of $165). Battery life is absolutely crazy, and I am a _heavy_ user. They say 80 hours, but they last me longer I'd say. There's not much to dislike tbf. Obviously the Major Vs are better, but I'd say the biggest difference is the bigger battery, compatibility with the app & wireless charging. I did some digging first and other than that, I don't think there's too much of a difference. Honestly, I'd say get the Major IVs unless the Vs are available for a great offer. If the Vs were available for £80 instead of £117, I'd have bagged them instead of the IVs. If you have the money to spend, I'd say drop them on the Marshall Monitor III, those look amazing, but have an RRP of £300💀 They're the over-ear, ANC version of these, essentially. But, if you're like me, and can't justify silly prices for headphones, go for a good offer with the IVs. Black Friday is coming up though, so if the Vs are floating about for (I assume you're a yank) less than $100, get them. Otherwise, I wouldn't say you're missing out on too much. No, I haven't used the Vs, but I read up on many posts online from people that upgraded and compared them.

I've recently purchased these and I'm quite impressed with the sound. I do like to use wired connection as we all know the sound quality wired is better than Bluetooth - or should be. So here's my problem. Tidal! When you connect these or any BT headphones to the Tidal app up pops a message telling you that Bluetooth compresses the sound quality . .. This is not what I'm paying for with Tidal. So I connected the very thin little supplied headphones cable - no sound!! It turns out that you have to turn the volume up full on both the headphones and your source. For me that's Sony AW45 and my Sony Xperia 10 mobile. It's the only way you can hear anything and I'm not sure that the sound quality with cable is any better.. be interested to hear what others have to say. I must admit the Bluetooth connection is actually rather pleasant to listen to. And the bass definitely there if you need it.

Marshall Major IV is super comfortable but it does not have any app so you cannot customize the EQ. Major V, on the other hand, has an app so it would be a great upgrade to the Major IV.
