My only nitpicks for Dusk are it's still not good enough to separate instruments in really crowded mix (e.g., Kick Back, Zankyosanka) and some lack of microdetails (e.g., sometimes the last "gggg" part of the "twangggggggg" for guitar strings rolls off earlier than I like). But to be fair, you can't get those below the steep kilobucks like Helios/MEST. Otherwise it's the best technicality I've heard (with no obvious compromise) below 1k. The DSP cable also gives the lazy people no excuse to avoid EQ'ing it to perfection.

The qudelix 5k is my personal "on the go" dac/amp and the qudelix app is far, far better than the moondrop app. Also, Crin was saying in his announcement video that the dsp is not normal eq? Something about how the only way to change frequency responses is to be subtractive so to create the extra bass profile means that the other frequencies had to be reduced. Unless dsp can just be a cable that you can assign an offline parametric eq profile to, it's not for me. I have the monarch mk3 in my sights and they're what I'm saving up for currently. This is likely going to be the next buy after that. Also, Moondrop cables are always crap.
@GadgetryTech5 ай бұрын
You can add or remove dB with the Moondrop app. The issue is there’s no preamp adjustment so if you boost 8db anywhere for example, it’s fair to expect distortion. If you do negative 8 dB somewhere with a Q of .707 then boost somewhere in that same octave +5 dB with. Q of 5 for example, it would work much better. He’s just saying this to avoid adding clipping/distortion.

I'm a bit concerned about the "paper dome" inside the DD used to damper the resonances. Doesn't this means the longevity of the DD cleanliness will be tied to the longevity of that paper sheet? Under hot and humid conditions this could put at risk the paper layer to rapidly cancel some of that dampening effect on the bass frequencies. Also ask yourself if u want to buy 1 800 dollar iems or 4 200 dollar iems cause there are lots that punch up like the Crinnacle zero: Reds, Leftshour S12 pro, Tin T2 Pro, 7hz Timeless 2 (WORTH CHECKING OUT!!!) , Tangzu FUDU, Moondrop Starfield 2, Kiwi Ears Cadenza (Probably want a dac/amp for this as its hard to drive), Simgot EM6L, Kefine Klanar, Dunu DaVinci coming out (Gizaudio collab). Do you need a dac/amp? Moondrop River 2 Ti (Moondrop Dawn for a cheaper option), Questyle M15, Cayin RU6, iFi GO link/bar/blu(this is key)/pod(this too if you can afford it but you want to buy IE600s so probably). Its worth picking up one if ur mobile a lot. Just some food for thought and I'm also regurgitating so I retain this stuff as I make my choice too haha. Sorry if i spammed ur inbox i kept editing adding more and i forgot this hobby is all subjective opinions coming out of 1s and 0s and even if you try youll never get to everything, its why no one has made the perfect iem haha. Check out the Dunu Sa6 mark 2 though or the Mega5est instead of Ie600

sound wise dusk, if comfort is a concern try both first. ie600 will fit smaller ears better but dusk will sound better depends on what is more comfy for you

Did you prefer playing games with the DSP cable or the analogue one?

For FPS I used analog because the small bump in 2k helps with certain games like CoD. For everything else I like the DSP cable more, but it’s not really noticeable on gaming
