Finally, an indepth, and detailed review of this wheel. Thank-you for this. It's gone a long way to help me in my search for a racing wheel. Far too many reviews I've seen, and read online, gloss over a lot of things you covered in your review. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼

If you play Gran Turismo and you pick E4 from the left side of the steering wheel and then you push down the same button, you have the opportunity to see everything (track, wether, braking bios, tsc, fuel etc) so you don’t need the controller for the long distance races, you do everything with the steering wheel.

Thank you. I been playing with it and ut be showing me TC and Fuel map but i didn’t know which one was it because i would just play with it while racing so i never looked at it to see which encoder number was it

The T248 makes also problems with the steering rotation settings. For instance: Before you start a race on GT7 you set everything (steering rotation too). When you start the race, if you control your steering rotation setup, is on AUTO and not on your setup, so during the race, you have to check it again and to korrekt it.
@LastWednesdayMedia
@LastWednesdayMedia Жыл бұрын
There are a few wheel rotation settings. 900, 720, 640, 560, 480, 340 and auto. there was a firmware update to the wheel a few months back, it could have added those if you don't have them.

If you drop 4 bills on a racing wheel you may as well spend the extra and get a PSVR2, right? That would be the ultimate in immersion. I'm not a car nut but if I was that would be amazing.

I got this for like 250 USD and I even got an extra discount because it was a returned item (and it has a few cosmetic flaws, but barely noticeable). - I would never have paid the "full" price, because it was too questionable and I didn't know if I'd like it, this being my first more "advanced" wheel and pedal set in like two decades (the last one I had was seriously one of those with a springy resistance in the wheel and pedals and only straight-up vibration as an effect, with an analog connector too). - I think it's really solid and a very good "all-rounder" for all kinds of racing/driving. - I even got it to work on Linux. Well, I didn't, some other people made drivers and software so that it WOULD work. It does work out-of-the-box, but force-feedback doesn't, so it's really weird without it. And the software is for Windows, so you can't program it other that whatever's on-board. But again, people have made software for it and it basically does everything, and perhaps even more. - Thrustmaster kinda sucks in that way. I know Linux has a relatively small user-base, especially if you consider some software for a group of people who play racers. But they basically told me "tough luck" in a politically correct way through support. - So, yea, no support from them if you refuse to use Windows, basically. Same with the likes of Razer (even though their support claims they're working on it, albeit with no time-frame). Anyway, as for the hardware and usage... Yea, it works pretty well, feels pretty good. Some of it is a little odd here and there, like the on-boards settings, the buttons, the shifters (though I like them). - I don't like how the screws in the pedals are super-long and heavy to turn (so you're not gonna move them quickly, unless you use a power-tool or something). Also, the pedals aren't through a separate USB like the metal-sheeted version of the same, but directly to the wheel, so you're "stuck" with that, AND the cables are a bit short for management. - But these are all relatively minor issues. Driving with it is pretty good. Just don't pay too much, I'd say.

Never recommend cheap bad quality products in my opinion had noise problems and to add on that the paddle shifters are very loud just get the moza r3 direct drive with the table clamp for 400$. 3.9nm pretty powerful very quiet and incredibly smooth and quick release its just soo good oedals are also good brake is just a bit easy to brake on so you can get the optional brake kit and you can upgrade your wheels pedals snd get a clutch such good value for this orice point

My wheel make a sound very annoying while braking in corners, turning in corners at max degree etc. Could be faulty? Or is it normal? Thrustmaster T248.

I have this and only real issue is the notchy feel in the wheel. I've never used other wheels so not sure if that's just how gear and belts feel, but when you're playing ATS and not turning much you really feel that notch when you're trying to stay straight on the road.. I think I'd go with the rs300 gt if I did it over again..

It's the gears not really the belt. However the belt is usually slower(feedback) in my opinion. (speaking from experience with Fanatec Belt driven wheels, the T248 and a Logitech G27)

He said using the controller for steering by using the left joystick. I haven’t gotten a wheel yet, I will soon, and I can rotate my PS5 controller like a wheel. This is the 2nd review where I’ve seen them say using the joystick on the controller to steer. Do they not know they can steer with the controller?

I have this T248 from TM and I tried GT7 while having 2 issues. 1 is low turning radius of cars and my wheel limited to 270 degrees for full rotation. But the second is more frustrating and the thing is that my steering wheel make a sound horrible while turning the wheel after that 270 degrees or less than that. When turning the wheel in corners etc. Is that sound normal or it could be faulty steering wheel? I dont know how to describe it but it goes TRRRRR and my whole desk vibrates. If I go max ffb in game and set at 1 and disable every ffb on the wheel and in-game I can decrease a bit the sound and vibration but not at all and wheel feels bad. Could be ABS? Or I lose control of the car? Or what?...

You can get moza r3 Xbox/Pc direct drive for 400$ well better stronger 3.9nm. and it's smooth like butter because it's direct drive
@brendanvas
@brendanvas 2 ай бұрын
I recently had a had a t248 first impression it's ok but very unsmooth it's very notchy it's a bit powerful, can be loud but after 1 week of use (took great care of it) it starts to make a screechy high pitched gear scraping kind of noise while turning right and it's shocking I'm so happy I returned it such a scam and the only decent things were the pedals
@brendanvas
@brendanvas 2 ай бұрын
If you can get a direct drive in my opinion moza r3 is way better than the t248 and wheel build quality is way better with quick release very easy and fast, variety of wheels to upgrade from, upgradable pedal kit, clutch and it doesn't feel cheap like a toy as of the t248
@brendanvas

If only the rim was removeable.. it would have been the perfect casual car driving wheel, or as a truckwheel for ETS2. (like they did with the TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition)

Waiting for this to arrive after getting it for about 220$ (used). A used G923 (+shifter) or a used T300 RS are still above 350$ (Way above my budget) in my country. Seems I'd be very happy with this purchase after seeing some G923 comparison too. Anyone knows if I can use an adapter+logitech shifter with this wheel? Since the thrustmaster shifters are way too expensive to me.

Even the budget Thrustmaster shifter?... It should be well under 100 USD and it's considered to be pretty solid. - I'm looking into getting that one with this wheel at some point.

Nice! A new review category. 👍🏻 I bought Thrustmaster TX Leather Edition for myself recently and I only started to really enjoy racing games after that - even though I pretty much suck at them. As you mentioned in the review, learning to use the wheel effectively takes some time. I even purchased the shifter add-on for the wheel. I love to play Forza Horizon 4 or 5 when I'm in a mood for more laid back driving and when I want to test my limits I enjoy crashing cars at the narrow roads of Dirt Rally 2.0, have you tried that? Its learning curve is painful, but the driving feels great and is addictive as hell. We have a history of talented rally drivers here in Finland, even though you wouldn't believe it if you saw me driving in Dirt Rally. 😂 Also, pretty cool that you have real life racing experience as well. 😎 What types of racing cars have you driven?
