Hey ive had this headset for 4-5 months now and im in love with it since day one once i figured out the dolby atmos ( i use the game preset on the 2nd click on the left dial , and i can legit hear exactly where ppl are on pretty much every r6 map) i totally recommend them got easily one full day of use on them but for some reason the battery decided to fall of a cliff recently , its been dying with less than 2h playtime , idk why this randomly happened and I haven't seen anyone talking about it , ill take them to the corsair service and see what comes from it , but anyone looking to buy this its a great headset

I bought these also for my Series X, sound and mic are both good but there is one problem. Mic monitoring is nearly non existent. Ive read that more headsets have that issue so im not sure if its the console to blame or the headset. And yes I have put mic monitoring on max and also enabled it on the headset. Also for people wondering i do not experience any cut out sounds or crackling. This goes for both the mic as earcups. I did update the firmware to 3.0.3.

I assumed they are not for warzone since the 125hz seems to be pretty low to maximise foot step. I can’t decide between this and the hs-70. The HS-70 has Bluetooth so I can use it on my phone as well but the Dolby atmos seems like a great feature that’s missing from the hs-70.

You can buy the Atmos license on Windows and use it on the HS70 no problem. That way you get everything.

Great headset,I’m getting the comfort and sound quality I’ve been looking for compared to my A50’s just without the dock. My only biggie is the icue doesn’t pick my headset up to update the firmware, I’ve downloaded the latest version of icue and when I plug my headset in with the charging cable icue all I get is a blue circle spinning.

Unfortunately I have to return mine as they are disconnecting now and bricking. I've tried to update with Icue firmware v 3.6/3.8 and 4.0 and nothing works. It doesn't even show it. Have tried on multiple PCs too

I have a Steelseries Arctis 7 and I cannot live without the chatmix dial. My headset is getting kind of old now and I've been looking for a new one and was thinking about the HS75. Can you confirm that the chatmix dial works on PC with the wireless adapter? The only downside to this headset to me so far is the plastic construction and lack of LED indicator when muted.

Old video but I want to ask a couple questions. How do these feel on the head compared the Xbox wireless headset. And with the Xbox wireless headset sound setting completely done and these head phones sound settings completely done which headset sounds better?

The sound quality of both are actually very similar, with nearly identical faults out of the box. The Corsair headset is a little more comfortable and the mic is a lot better, but the Xbox wireless headset is a slightly better value considering it sounds so similar to the HS 75 but also has Bluetooth. Pure sound imaging alone, I could always revisit it, but I think the tuned Xbox headset has just a slight edge.

Does anyone else have the problem where you can’t adjust the chat mixer from the headset as well as the controller. It’s a big problem since I can’t hear any of my friends unless it’s from the voice chat in the game, a lot of games don’t have that so I can’t really play without hearing them. Does anyone know how to fix this ??

It depends if it's worth the price premium to you or not. I think it's built better, but the Xbox headset is still made well. The HS75 has a much better microphone so if that's important to you there's no contest there. Xbox is a great value considering you get Bluetooth out of the box and it works with Windows 10 with just a USB-C cable, something the HS75 cannot do. If it's being used as a pure Xbox-only wireless headset, I like the HS75 XB more.

Thanks so much Jay! My honest long term opinion hasn't changed a ton, but part of this issue comes from my limited time to really use the same headset for weeks at a time. The imaging and stereo performance of the Portals has to be one of the absolute best Xbox headsets I've ever heard, if not THE best. The only one that may give it a run for the money is the Penrose X from Audeze but I still haven't been able to sample one yet (I keep being told I get one soon). I've heard of some comfort issues with the Penrose but haven't experienced it first hand so I cannot say for sure. The comfort on the Portal is excellent. My only gripe on the Portal is with user control for adjusting volume and game mix. Any time you get a touch slider for adjustment, you lose that tactile/direct feeling. This can make adjusting game to chat mix or even master volume a little more cumbersome to deal with. I found that if I use the headset more and more, I become more comfortable with the adjustments but it's not perfect. I think the audio adjustments are one of my few gripes with the headset but again, many won't find this an issue. My friends don't necessarily say my voice sounds bad by any means, but the array-style mic system does sound a little different than the "norm" where a boom mic has some passive properties to pick up your voice better and still reject some background noise. I hope that helps, and I'm sorry if this made things more confusing!

@@GadgetryTech I've had my B&O portals for over a month now, It's the versatility that makes them worth it for me I've a surround sound system and found myself watching films with the headset instead. A quiet place was the first one I watched and it was the perfect film to test them out with. On xbox mode though i do have a very low static ish sound you wouldn't notice it in game but it can be annoying, do you have the same problem or any fixes for it. tried turning everything off that could be possibly interfering and it did nothing.

I am seriously thinking of picking this headset up just because I always like the Corsair headset. However, I have a Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 and Arctis9X headset as well and love them both. I tried a LS50X but it was defective out the box from being a used like new unit. Would you say that the Corsair would be a great headset to add after I return my LS50?

@@Aviiatt the turtle beach is great, I do have a bit of a larger head so it fits me well. The sound quality is great, I’ve used it for Payday 2, Ace Combat 7, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 5 and Call of Duty. It’s a very nice headset, the battery last quite a while and you can charge it while using it due to using USB C. It’s a very nice, affordable wireless gaming headset. They recently came out with the max series as well which has 40 hours instead of 20, so look into that one if you want more battery life.

I'm not sure wheter to get these, or the Blackshark V2. Blackshark V2 is 60 dollars, and this headset is 100 dollars. (on sale in my area, and the Corsair one is refurbished but by Corsair themselves) I play on Series S. I already got a PC with the Steelseries Arctis Pro wireless but I want something for my xbox. Wired vs Wireless doesn't matter too much to me, and I prefer something with sound and comfort. I know the Blackshark V2 isn't officially supported by Xbox, but I heard it seems to work well with the 3.5mm jack. Is there any other headset you reccomend for under 100?

If you don’t need wireless the Blackshark V2 is one of my favorites for the money. I recommend it to friends and family all the time! It’s an amazing value. I plan on releasing a review on it sometime soon but its likely a month out.

They are lacking in footsteps and positional awareness compared to what's on the market to be honest. The Arctis 7X, Stealth 700 Gen 2, and HyperX Cloud Flight all provide better positional awareness.

Fairly comfortable considering the material. The clamp force isn’t that strong which helps a ton with glasses. The memory foam pads have a little bit of give to them too which is nice. The stealth 700 Gen 2 has removable pads and there’s a tiny pull tab underneath them to make an indent on the pad for glasses users which is awesome too

The 7X is more open/detailed sounding so if you like that sound I would stick with it. The HS75 XB is more laid back and warm sounding so they have very different sound profiles. Both are good in their own way, but it comes down to preference. The HyperX CloudX Flight sounds more like the 7X than others do.

Do not buy corsair. I purchased the corsair headset HS 75XB in December 2020 under one year ago. The headset has now started to freeze and the battery runs out after 1 hr. I contacted corsair who said they would do a warranty claim. I submitted all the information that the corsair website warranty information says that they need. Only the receipt and the serial number is required for a claim. I was then asked to send a photo of a part number. This part number is apparently ment to be on a sticker on the corsair headset around the band that goes around your head. I have never seen the sticker and if the part number is so important why would it not be stamped into the headset. So because of the part number sticker not being on the headset my warranty claim has been rejected. Do not buy corsair that do not honour there warranty.

Xbox really are shit with their apple approach to their hardware. Availability should also be a companies priority. The fact that Xbox can't get Virtuoso or something similar but PlayStation can is ridiculous. Microsoft and Xbox are always making fatal mistakes when it comes to business approach and it pains me to say this as a lifetime Xbox user but PlayStation really are better in a lot of ways, like the ability to stream directly to KZbin and so on. Xbox is honestly primitive and the fact that the new generation is supposed to be the "best console ever" but it still has this lack of availability is ridiculous. I hope the Series X 2.0 has Bluetooth and usb wireless support and can actually take the Virtuoso and similar gear otherwise wtf is Xbox doing?

To add to this pain point, Xbox shares much more in common with Windows 10 than PS, yet Windows compatible headsets do not work on Xbox. They shot themselves in the foot a little bit, but to defend them, almost all wireless Xbox headsets have Game to Chat audio mix controls, making party chat adjustments much much easier. This is critical on games like Battle Royale. Sony, on the other hand, allows you to use almost any PC compatible headset you want which is amazing, BUT you cannot use game to chat mix. They only allow this volume control on their own "Official" PS Pulse headset which is ridiculous because it means the feature is there but Sony won't let other headsets use it. Both have significant flaws with audio choices right now sadly, but the flaws are different. I like that Xbox sends two audio streams to the headset allowing the headset to adjust the mix. Sony combines it, so the method of adjusting audio mix is actually telling the console to adjust the sound via a USB API. I'll likely make a video on this soon because there are so many issues on both sides it's pretty insane. Great topic Zedd!

Don't buy this headset. It's pure crap. Devs were zoning out. If you ever have them malfunction THEY DON'T TURN OFF. NOTHING. HOLD THE POWER BUTTON. NOTHING. You gotta download a program that doesn't even register the headsets to download an update that might or might not fix the problem. I'm about to spend an hour trying to solve this crap when it should've only taken a couple seconds forcing a power off. THIS IS INSANE. I SPEND 150 BUCKS ON THIS. HOW IS THIS THING? I PAY PREMIUM FOR THIS. I wanna smash them into the floor, but I can't 'cause the problem is supposed to be fixed after the battery dies after 2 days. Excuse my rant here. I'm just really mad. Need to take some deep breaths and keep solving this. Man, I had a bit of time before heading to bed and now it's over. I hope I can solve this without having to wait those couple days. Edit: Couldn't find any fix. I'll have to die with it when its battery runs out in a couple/several days.

Like your custom 1 sound curve. It's like the opposite of the standard spec. And seems like what I would have. (Just bought These) so have to see later. Only a bit sad because they are 2y old by now. . 🤷🏼‍♂️ and have to figure out how to use em with a Android phone. Everything is possible. I'm like semi deaf has big tv with Atmos. But think this is going to change things. And I can block out annoying neighbors
