When the boom mic is plugged in, if you try and move it, bend it away from your mouth, does it do the horrible scratchy, static noise from the connected end? Man, the Astro A30 charged to 100% in just one hour, and when I first used it, it was at 40% but then I used it to 5%. It's an incredible headset. While it might not blast music as loudly, even with EQ adjustments on your phone, it really amps up the excitement when connected for gaming. I'm absolutely loving this headset, no question about it!

After watching at least 50 videos in the last 7 days a bothersome situation arose once again All over KZbin are “reviews” of not just headsets but essentially everything-obviously But most of them are brand ambassadors on the DL they get sent these products free of charge therefore creating a review video that is completely biased giving the viewer and altered perception of reality It is wildly frustrating. Essentially leaving me with more questions than before. DUDE 18:50 you literally just sold the headset to me. I need a headset that can hear PS5 and PC at the same time. I noticed the mic breakdown though. When connected to multiple devices does the mic prioritize a connection over another? I didn’t forget because they do not compare. In pure analog mode, the H6PRO is superior in every way. H6PRO does not offer wireless, game to chat mic, custom eq, etc If you don’t need any of those extra features, the H6PRO is better.

I personally loathe flip to mute, because it leaves you with 1 of 2 things. Either a mic that has basically a fixed, hinged drop with very little adjustability - or a mic that eventually wears out and starts dropping from over use. I prefer a button of some type.

So update.. I purchased the ps5 version and sound is 💯 volume, I returned it to buy the Xbox version and forgot the ps5 dongle in the console.. well hate to say the transmitter only works with one headset meaning if you have 2 transmitters it requires to pair them to the headset every time you want to switch consoles so not very every console friendly.. at least the steelseries novas new transmitters can have two pure headset without requiring pairing each time you switch consoles, only problem you can’t buy them online yet

Beware of the comfort but, I find them extremely uncomfortable, it sucks because they do everything else so right

It's just not very good on the head, I've had my kids freinds and wife say the same thing. I haven't tried the epos yet as I've heard that are better for PC. I've tried all Astros all hyper x headsets turtle beach SteelSeries and the Sony's. The Sony h9s are the most comfortable I've ever used but they suck in terms of sound side tone and build

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max should probably be in that list. One of the best mics out of any wireless headsets. I'm personally deciding between Nova 7x and TB Gen 2 Max. I think the A30 are just too expensive for what they offer.

I've been searching all over for the answer to this question... For console gaming using a wired headset means plugging into the wireless controller (for the most part). That being said what produces better sound an affordable wired headset like HyperX CloudX plugged into the controller or a wireless headset like the A30's via 2.4ghz dongle plugged directly into the console? I know you have be be careful which wired headset you use because the controller can only output so much power. Thank you!

Oh man that's tough! It's close enough where it can be subjective. I like the A30 a lot even though it isn't perfect. It has a fun sound with bass and treble but isn't a big upgrade with regards to footsteps, which is something the A50s were pretty decent at. I would consider the Nova Pro Wireless or the Maxwell if you want a more substantial upgrade.

hey mate, first video I've watched from you. Really enjoyed the production value and quality of delivery. The PC gaming headset market is competitive and overwhelming with what's out there. Often hard to find a great headset wireless headset for a medium budget is challenging as there are so many flaws with headsets in 2022 that get so much right, but still a few things wrong is astonishing. Can you do a video for the medium-medium high budget wireless PC gaming headset? For example, the razer sharks look great, apparently sound great, but their earmuffs have to keep being adjusted after sliding down...and other products that compete have equivalent flaws. Would be good to get a great comparison to see what comes out on top.

I just purchased the Mando A30 and have a couple questions I’m hoping you can answer. I’ve tried reaching out to Astro multiple times with no response. Whenever I plug the boom mic in while the headset is on, the mic doesn’t work. I have to turn the headset off, insert the mic, and then turn in on. Is this normal for these headsets? Also, I use them on my PS4. I have the PS4 set to auto detect. However, the PS4 thinks the headset is connected all the time while transmitter is connected. This is the first time I’ve had this issue. These are my first pair of Astro’s. Thank you.

@GadgetryTech I’ve been using the A20 Gen 2 for a while now as I think it sounds great for it’s price and in my opinion sounds better than the A50 So purely on sound which is better A30 or A20?? I think for £230 if the sound is night and day difference compared to the A20, then I might try it out

It's not a night and day difference, but it is slightly better. You know what's funny? I also thought the Astro A20 Gen 2 sounded better than the A50s! So considering you and I have a similar ear, I can say the A30 does sound better. It depends on what you listen to of course, but to me, the A30 is the best headset Astro has out right now.

Keep you astro a20 gen 2 ,these have fiddly controls, and no flip mic to mute ,it's a switch,features are cool but mic is so so,they feel more premium than a20 gen 2,but removing wheel and flip to mute was a terrible idea

@@raysales977 I’m ok with how the controls are for the mic mute and volume. I’m not bothered about features. When I buy a headset it’s primarily for the sound and then comfort, but it does seem like the best idea to keep my A20 Gen 2

@@GadgetryTech Hey Joe, so following our conversation here, my Astro A20 Gen 2 has developed a fault and now I need a new headset, but not sure what to get and kind of put off the A20 now as I didn’t expect it to go wrong only after a year and a half I primarily care about footsteps, so which headset do you highly recommend for a maximum of £200? I was going to get the A30 however, I watched your comparison video again between the A30, Nova 7 and Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max, but seems like the A30 falls behind in competitive games, unless you tell me that if I like the A20 Gen 2 I’ll like the A30 with a bit of tuning. You did say above the A30 sounds better than the A20, but let me know if you meant that in an immersion or competitive sound profile Again, I primarily care about footsteps, so I would really appreciate your recommendation Also, if you have played the new MW2, please base your recommendation on the MW2 sound engine if you have tried a variety of headsets on that game

So I have a serious question because I truly love my game chat mix on my wireless headset for my ps4. Unfortunately they won't work on my ps5. Are they any wireless headsets for the ps5 that has a working game chat mix that works besides the pulse or the inzone? Thank you in advance.

I answered your question on the other video as well, but here's my answer here in case: Only Sony Inzone H7 and H9s do outside of their cheap Pulse 3D headset. Sony doesn't allow 3rd party companies to use game-to-chat mix which is a terrible move but that's what we're stuck with for now.
